Remove and replace diff center/bearings.

I have a cusco clutch lsd, it was put in with very little preload, I would like to pull the center and increase preload. I haven't had an FD diff apart before I know with Sa/fb you can just record adjuster position and remove and replace the center but some other carrier assemblies need pullers/shims and stuff. Is this an at home job or do i need specific tools?

I assume you're talking preload within the LSD, rather than pinon preload right? If you're just removing and refitting the same LSD then it's quite simple as you can reuse the same shims etc. Just gently tap out the bearing shims through the drive shaft holes and it'll all come apart easily. No real force is needed. Just lay out everything you remove to ensure it goes back in exactly the same way.
If you're talking pinion preload then the diff doesn't have to come apart unless you over tighten it resulting in too higher preload and need a new collapsible spacer. Bare in mind that you set the preload with the seal removed, then refit the seal and check again with the added seal drag.
Regarding working on the LSD itself I'm not sure as I haven't had to do this before, the furthest I've gone is ring and pinion swaps in FD's.

Thank you very much, yes clutch preload in the center. The gearset was assembled by a professional with a solid pinion bearing spacer to hopefully make it a bit more robust at high power so I won't be touching it.
