Reassembling the engine...1 question and a half.
 

The engine is pretty much all put together with all of the accessory and auxillary components, and Monday I'll be putting it back in the car, but I've got two "missing" questions. It's been about a year since I took the engine apart, and now I'm putting it back together finally, and my memory is faint on how some things went together.

What goes here...as I've searched the manual and I can't find what goes there...just faint pieces of info. I assume that once I put the engine back in the car, that I'll find some hose that needs to be plugged in. I don't exactly know what it's called, so I have no idea what to search for.

Second question, there's a blue connector sitting just under the where the efini y-pipe comes across, and I haven't had to plug anything into it yet either. I read that it's only for California cars with emissions, so I should be good right?

This is my first rebuild, and I'm taking my time making sure everything goes together correctly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Take a hose and run it from that metal pipe to the bottom nipple on the oil filler neck. The blue conncector is for egr and isn't used unless your egr valve has a connector. Did you replace the copper crush washers on the oil feed line banjo fitting in the first pic? Could be the lighting but they look used. Any washer or o-ring that is crushed down should be replaced or they will very likely leak.

Yes, replaced them. Had to get them from NAPA. Actually, I have to get more for the oil cooler lines. My hands were filthy when I installed it, so it probably got gunked up. :(

Actually, after looking at the pic...I'm going to check it on monday to make sure I put two copper crush washers on the damn thing, now that you mention it. It looks like I only used one.

btw i would recommend using new crush washers for that fuel rail banjo bolt thing too. glad to see you're getting your car up and running.. haha

Yeah...that picture was taken before I had gotten to that part, that was just how it was left in the engine...you know...screw everything in after you take it apart so you don't lose anything...heh. :D
