Rear Wing for Circuit ?

Hi all,

I have started to look down the aerodynamics path for my FD, the cars primary use is track work so I wanted know what wing people are having success with.

The class I am in at the moment permits a wing that fits inside the envelope of the car, ie it must not be higher than the sheet metal roof and no wider than the widest section of the car.

I understand that each wing reacts differently depending on which car it is fixed to, has there been much testing on wings with the FD?
Can you buy a generic GT wing and expect it to work?
What level of adjustable-ability should I be looking for?

Cheers

APR and SARD Racing sell affordable carbon wings with various angle adjustments. I'm not sure about APR but Sard lets you choose the wing stand height for your wing that you purchase. As for width you want to find something under or around 1700mm. Most companies now offer "3D" wings that have a unique shape to them. I see most FD owners going with a RE-Amemiya style wing because the shape of it flows with the roof lines of the car.

What about the 99 spec wing or is that not serious enough for what you want to do? Here are the down force statistics based on the angle of attack:

Yeah well I would be inclined to go with the RE-Amemiya wing or Feed because they have been designed specifically for the FD.

My car is currently a 99+ Spec with the oem aero. Yeah they is a lot to be gained from increasing the front and rear aero.
