rear toe links dont fit??
 

i currently have a set of rotary extreme toe links. they are a little worn and cluck a bit so i picked up a set of m2 toe links. i went to install them today and come to realize the m2's dont fit.

if you look at the rotary extreme links. you can tell there is a inner and outewr side to them. the m2's are the same on both ends. but on the hub side of where the link is supposed to attach to there is a smaller gap area where the end of the link wont fit.

is there a difference between 93-94-95 toe links or are they all universal with eachother?

all should be universal across the years

You should be able to replace those end links (heim joints) with high quality pieces from a company like Aurora and such.

not at the car now but it looks like this. on the hub side its like there are "spacers" where the link sits. where there is none on the body side. the width of the 2 berings are different on the rotary extreme links where you can see there is a specific way to install them, where as the m2 links are the same on both sides.

their a bit too big on factory spec too (atleast on my car. ) I took a peice of sandpaper and took about 1/16" off. its a VERY close fit.

Did you know that the suspension connections in the spindle fit in steel inserts?

You can spread them apart by using a bolt or threaded rod through the holes.

I used a 5/16" 4" bolt if I recall correctly.

Run the bolt from the outside through one of the holes and run a nut up a couple inches.

Put 2 more nuts on the end of the bolt and jam them together semi-tight so that they will not turn.

Turn the first nut until it contacts the other side of the opening and use a wrench to force it a bit. You will see it open up. When you insert the bolts for the toe link it will close back up as you tighten them.

Ill give that a try. But like I said. The rotary extreme links are made to fit the smaller gap on the one side perfectly with out modification...the m2's are both the same size on both sides. Ill try the bolt thing to get those tabs to move
