Rear and Front Speaker Sizes??
Can anybody tell me so i dont have to take it all apart to find out. They look like 6 x 9 's -- Bose's right?

On the non-Bose systems the front doors are 6" speakers (odd ball size) which can be replaced with 5 1/4's using an adaptor bracket, 6 1/2"'s will NOT fit. The rears are 6x8"'s. I have no idea what the Bose systems have.

Just did all 4 in my base model this summer. 6x8 in rear, and I DID get 6 1/2" thin-mount Pioneer's in the doors. Doors were perfect fit, no cutting and screwed directly into the holes. You have to take that plastic crap off the front speakers first to unscrew them. If you don't believe me, I can take a digital picture since I have my door panel off to fix the map door and power window switch.

I'll need to check on the depth. You are right that any "meaty" speaker will not fit. I first went for some better high-end speakers, but I could not see how such a large magnet was going to fit, even if I cut the plastic of the enclosure to give more room to the window. It looked like even if I used 1/2" spacers I was going to have problems. So I returned them and went with the low profile Pioneers. I still have the box so I can get the depth for you. I don't have a jamming system, so the Pioneers all around work fine for me. Sounds much cleaner than stock. I found the higher-end speakers sounded crappy without an amp. I'm trying to stay with the 'lite' theme, plus I screwed up one ear at a concert. No more amps for me...

My front Pioneer's are 1 5/8" in depth. Pretty thin. I don't think you can go much over 2" without cutting the plastic behind the magnet and using spacers.
