Rear Diffuser Replaces the Rear bumper lip?

Currently my rear bumper lip is sagging on the right hand side and it's ripped near the exhaust. I'm thinking about purchasing the rear diffuser as shown below. Will this rear diffuser replace the rear bumper lip or does it clip to the oem rear bumper lip?

Yes, but there is a lip (which can be detached) on the stock rear bumper. Does it replace the lip? It is hard to see in that picture. The reason why I am asking is because my stock lip on the rear bumper is sagging on the right and if the diffuser replaces this lip, then there is no point for me to buy a new rear bumper lip.

:)

Gotta love those quick and very unhelpful posters... Anyway I'm like 90 percent sure you remove the rear lip.

Thanks, I did some more research and you are correct!

I have seen one with a rare diffuser the lip was not there. I was also told the lip would distirb the airflow to the diffuse so it has to be taken out. Personally I do not like the diffuser that much becasue the FD is ugly without that lip.

I like the rear lip because it covers the gas tank.

couple statements:

1- the rear lip reminds me of a parachute
2- I think an FD with the gas tank showing looks incomplete
3- if the rear diffuser is actually worth anything (other than looks), it wouldn't be just rivited to the bumper cover

Yep, the rear lip must come off if you want to use the rear diffuser. The side plates of the diffuser use the facroty holes for the rear mudflaps - only one hole is needed to be drilled in the bumper, its right under the Lisence Plate. Here are the best pics i can find of the RE-Amemiya rear diffuser on my FD. Hope this helps

I have that diffuser and you do have to remove the rear valance on the bumper unless you modify it, I trimmed up mine to fit around the diffuser. I did not really like how much of the fuel tank you could see. BTW re-amemyia7, I love your car!!
yeah, its kinda dirty but here are some pics:

Where did you guy's buy these RE diffusers? They look great on both cars but I'd definitely keep the rear lip like r1rx7girl.

I bought mine from shine auto project, in the GB section on the forums.
