Rear Diffuser

I've been looking for a rear diffuser for quite a while. The RE-Amemiya with Bowtech Generator was my preferred choice but considering I just bought some Fikses, I'm not as willing to pay $1500 for this piece. I remember Chuck @rotaryextreme was making one, and I just checked the website. It says that the diffuser is on sale (CF version) for $800. Do any of you guys have any pics of what this looks like? Any comments and pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Run Racing

They make this one, but its nothing like the Amemiya piece. That is awesome

Prolly around $850 in fiberglass.I don't know who is importing Run Racing though..

I wish Top Secret supported the FD. I have a C/F rear diffuser for an S2K in stock and it is a beautiful piece.

Chuck at Rotary Extreme was supposed to be making one based on the RE Amemiya rear diffuser. I haven't heard any updates on it so you may want to talk to him directly. www.rotaryextreme.com

The carbon fiber rear diffuser sells for ~$850, and the bowtech generator (which is the add-on) sells for ~$550. So, the total actually comes to a little over $1400. But if Chuck at rotaryextreme is selling one for $800 I'd love to see what his version is like. I'll try and send him an e-mail, but in the mean time if anyone else has information on this, please feel free to share. Thanks!

It's done and it's beautiful, he showed me some pictures of it...msg him if you're interested. I think it's 550 for the fiberglass replica and 800 for the carbon fiber.

By the way...what is a bowtech generator? and how does it add on? what does it do?

Vortex, perhaps?

Bowtech is what Jimlab is putting in his FD.:D

Vortex: a whirling or circular motion in a fluid tending to form a cavity or vacumn in its center.

Steve Cirian has a great overview on many different diffusers that are available:
http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/diffuser/index.html

RE-Amemiya's "simple" rear diffuser looks like this (this one is fiberglass):

http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/d...emiya_pro2.jpg

The Bow-Tech Generator, as strange as the name sounds, is the add-on shown here:

Notice the additional center and side pieces.

Anyways, I'm going to go to the source, and send Chuck a msg, and let you guys know what I find. Thanks everyone!

"Bowtech Generator" is the direct Japanese -to-English translation for "Vortex Generator", from all the sites I can find.

They look like they help evacuate air from under the FD, as well as help route it around the sides/rear, creating less drag, and low pressure underneath the car, "sucking" it down and stablizing it better at higher speeds.

I guess they sound similar. Is there is no word for vortex in Japanese, anyone?

Mazdaspeed has one. It looks the same like the R-Spec bumpers but this one comes without bumper. Not sure what they call it. I think it was A-Spec or something, I'm not so sure. Check with Japanese parts trader. If they have the latest Mazdaspeed catalgue, I'm sure they know what you are talking about
