Rear defroster switch lamp

So, I'm looking at this with a little more granularity that I guess I need to...call me anal...I can take it. :D

I'm thinking about replacing these with LEDs, but have no idea where to begin. I've looked at Ledtronics to no avail. I'm wondering if anyone has ever done anything with these and if so, where they sourced them from.

There's no P/N in the books so I'm wondering if this is something that's [technically] even servicable. I'd assume that it's just a whole switch replacement and if I were to look into something else, either get a different hat or I could probably rig up a standard LED in there.

Anyway, here's the bulb and the stamping on the bottom. The base is rubber. The last pic is the guts of the switch. The two prongs on the left are where this lamp sits and where I could potentially fit a large SM LED.

Thanks all in advance.

Nevermind. I literally just looked at the pics again and realized exactly what I can do.

I guess I'll just keep this thread around for the archive...not that anyone else will care to do the same thing. :D

Minature bulbs.....

I brought this old thread back.....I have a few bulbs burnt out that need replacing. Does anyone know what they are called, size etc??

My fog light switch, and manual head light retractor switch are both burnt out. These bulbs dont pull out of the base, they are attached as one. If anyone knows any info on them, weather it be a bulb or LED i dont care. as long as i can replace them

Sure does....if you take your cluster/gauge face off, you can pop out the manual retaractor button. On the side you will see a grey plastic philips head screw/socket. Lightly turn it and the socket will fall out with a light tap of your hand.

I looked at the defroster one last night. They are neo base wedge lights. I do not know what size they are yet. The defroster switch bulb isn't though. I'm not sure what kind of bulb that would be or where you would get it. I would suggest just hardwiring a light in that spot

Holy dead thread Batman!

So I have a spare Fog light switch which I've installed to run a garage door opener remote. The problem is that the tiny bulb inside the switch is dead. The bulb is attached to the plastic base, which plugs into the board for the switch.

I don't want to hardwire a generic bulb... because the color/brightness won't match...

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix? Or do I just need to replace the entire switch to get a good bulb?
