rear brake recessing the rear piston

can some one tell me how to recess the rear break piston? ive tried pushing the hell out of it and it went no where. i heard that i might have spin the piston but i dont know which way and if i have to push and spin at the same time.

any advice or even an old thread that shows how to do an entire brake change would be greatly appreciated.

thanks, the f***ing new guy. :D

you need this..the first one...

you use it by hooking it up to an extension and a rachet then just look for the 2 prongs that fit in the caliper and turn it in...

Spin it clockwise to depress it, IIRC.

Be sure to open the bleeder when you're doing this...

the rear brakes went on with no problems at all after it got that tool and read the clubrx article. problem with the front brakes though. seems the passenger side caliper managed to get dirt inside one of the pistons sleeves and is jammed. probably just go order one at autozone tommorrow morning.

oh well gives me some time to put my tein springs on. always an upside to something i guess.

Make sure that piston is being pushed in dead straight. If you clamp it unevenly it can get cockeyed and bind.

I have an extra set of front calipers if it helps. Pm me.

InitialFD 01-26-07 09:43 PM

to late, i already order it at autozone, 60 bucks plus core for some remans. should be here tommorrow. plus i put on my tein coils today. yippie.
