Real Problem, Please help
 

I have a 93 FD3 with about 70k miles on it.

IT will not start! Here are the details
I started it the other day and while waiting for it to heat up the add engine coolant light came on.
The coolant temp never even got to 10% because this was while I was still warming it up (ambient air was about 40 degrees fh)
I turn the car off immediatly.

Thought that the AST cracked, if that is soo all the coolant would leak out. It did not.

I let the car sit for about a day then I check the coolant. It seems fine but I fill it any way.
I did notice what looked like some dirt or carbon on the coolant stick.
Any way now the car will not start at all.
It tries to turn over but no luck with the spark.
Coolant is not leaking, oil is fine.

What do you think?
Is my engine toast?
What else could be a problem?

I hate to say it but seems like the coolant got into the engine. Take it to a rotary mechanic as soon as possible to see if you need a rebuild.

Could it be anything else? I would like to avoid a new engine.
Also when I started it after adding the new coolant it did start and idle for a second then dumped out and would not restart.

My bet is it is just flooded. You ran it just long enough to get it into "flood mode", most likely. In my opinion, judging only from what you have said, the low coolant alarm and the subsequent non-starting are not related events.
Make sure you have a good strong battery, push the gas all the way to the floor, turn the ignition on and turn the car over for about 5 seconds.
Let off the gas. DO NOT TOUCH THE GAS! Now turn the car over again for about 5 seconds. Now, floor it and turn it over again for a few seconds. Repeat this, even if it means putting a charger on the battery.
I think you can get your car to fire, I mean hell, it WAS running, you know? And you didn't report a mass of sudden white smoke out the exhaust, so.....I think you are just flooded.

It depends on how long the engine was running before turning it off.
Maybe you just flooded the engine. Easy to do in cold weather if not allowed to run long enough.

If the add coolant light comes on but the filler neck has fluid above the sensor, it means the sensor is bad.

Do not panic yet. Slow down, take a few deep breaths, investigate and analyze the problem. If you are not good at that, then get a friend who is or take it to a mechanic.

Any leaks on the ground? You see any bubbles?

Are you saying you just checked the coolant overflow tank and not the main filler neck? If you checked the filler neck, how high up was the coolant?

i agree, i think u flooded the engine, just wait about a week if you can and try it again later, hopefully the gass will evaporate

Nothing on the ground. I am still letting it sit. We will see. And the coolant was almost full on the neck, but I topped it off (to the line) any way.

I will try it again later today. We will see.
