My car is going in for paint and while it's there I want to add a 99 spec style bumper...unfortunately I cannot get over the license plate holder...so what to do? Pettit makes a FRP 99 style nose and there are several out there doing the plate less design in urethane (RX7 store, raceonusa etc,,)While the urethane is stronger and more flexible the downside is none of the of them seem to fit well and judging by the pics I've seen this is true...On the other hand with the fiberglass it can be shaved, built up and will hold color better. It is also lighter and doesn't need the reinforcement bar altered.
Will a real expert in body work please enlighten me on the best solution!.....I did see one car with a genuine J-spec bumper modified that looked pretty good but how long will that last before it sags? Anyway fit is crucial...and by the way has anyone bought the Pettit unit?
