which radiator

I'm trying to get a radiator for my FD which one i should use. I seen two different kind of Koyo radiator on ebay. Whats the different between the Koyo N Flow radiator and the Koyo racing radiator. I'm trying to not spend that much money and the racing radiator is about 285. and the N Flow is 400. Thanx bro

Mahjik 03-29-07 09:56 AM

What will you be doing with the car? Street driving, AutoX, road course, drag racing?

rotory4life 03-29-07 10:20 AM

Steet driving, and might try autox

Mahjik 03-29-07 10:23 AM

Get a Fluidyne or a PWR then.

I think he was looking out for him. They might be more expensive, but they are 1.5 larger... more than enough for his purposes. Both also use good construction and materials. And unlike the KOYO, which is 2.0 times larger and probably overkill, it generally come with far fewer fitment issues.

I got a Fluidyne from that place I was happy that is why I was passing it along didn't understand what good looking out was.

"Good looking out" is another way of saying thanks. i.e. you are about to walk out in front of a bus, someone pulls you back on the sidewalk so you don't get squished. That person was "looking out for you", so using the phase "good looking out" is another way of saying "Thanks for looking out for me".

fdeeznutz 03-29-07 12:40 PM

I use the acronym GLO. :ky:

Thanks for the explanation.

Are you needing a replacement or do you want to avoid the potential for having the stock radiator's plastic end tanks catastrophically failing or what? WHY do you 'need' a new radiator? And are you seriously going to auto-X, or is this just a fancy? Reason I ask is you can get one HELL of a good stock replacement radiator from RADIATORWORLD.COM for $160 that will significantly outperform the stock radiator and be MORE than enough for 99.97% of ANY driving needs. Surely you are not just a ricer-wannabe that THINKS he has to have an "aluminum racing radiator" simply because it is "cool".....? Remember, an aluminum radiator is NOT as efficient as a copper/brass unit.

I'm doing in upgrade on my intercooler, and as well injectors. So i want a stand up radiator, so that i could add my front mount intercooler. Not trying to be a ricer or making my car look cool bro. I drive my car around and i travel from Rochester to Brooklyn. So i want my engine to be cool not heating up. From what i know rotary make alot of heat. So the cooler the antifreeze is, the cooler my engine.I seen autox here in Rochester. I didnt know nothing about it and when i seen it, it was cool. I do drifting and it would be a nice thing to try out as well. I try not to limit my self in one spot. I love drifting, drag, street race, highway race. So learing something new would be nice and my drivng skill would improve as well.

After time was going on we just cut it short to bro. Good looking it is another way of saying Thank you. You are going out of your way to help some one else. Rotory.... Well i have aol and i wanted to pick Rotary4life but that screen name had been pick out so i used Rotory4life. From that point on i stuck with it.

Koyo

1 Attachment(s)
Putting a Koyo race radiator in my FD during my rebuild. I plan to push the car harder than before, like taking it on the track. But the main thing is to run cooler. I want more reliability. This upgraded radiator, a DP and bigger IC are the main changes I'm making to ensure cooler running.

Seeing the stock radiator in comparison to my new one, I am amazed that Mazda was willing to use it. It is incredibly undersized, wimpy and crappy looking. Maybe double the thickness is not required to fix this problem. But why the hell not? Got my Koyo off the eBay guy (Complete Motorsport http://stores.ebay.com/Complete-Motorsport) for a reasonable price ($340 "buy it now" including CA tax and shipping).

Fluidyne is the best you can get. Koyo works fine, but I got fluidyne and it makes my FD really happy. That makes me happy. no complaints

HKNY 03-30-07 04:07 PM

i like my koyo it works good for me. Where in Brooklyn are you from Rotory?

rotory4life 03-30-07 05:53 PM

Sunset park (Spanish Town) But going to school in Rochester but i Travel to Brooklyn almost every weekend, if money is right

bajaman 03-30-07 06:27 PM

A lot of you are REALLY confused as to what makes a radiator work....lol!
"thickness" and number of rows and all that are only PART of the equation.

Aw fuck it....no sense it trying to bring logic into THIS thread....may as well debate dino vs. synthetic oil for all the good it does....lol!

HKNY 03-30-07 07:19 PM

yea i have a few friends that live in sunset park. I worked on 17th and 3rd for a few years

rotory4life 03-30-07 09:09 PM

Where you at right now, you dont still work on 3rd ave
