r-magic ac condenser

hey guys wanted to know if anyone ever ran this before its a smaller but thicker condenser from r magic that gives more room for airflow to the radiator wanted to get some feedback if anyone used it

Marf 07-24-16 02:28 PM

I've seen similar ones on Yahoo Japan Auctions and wondered if they were any good too. "HPI Radiator Rescue"

HPI ??????????? FD3S RX-7*Radi RX7 - Yahoo!?????? - ????!

LoU "hOw Ya Do" 07-24-16 02:37 PM

nice find my main concern is the fittings i have an r1 and from what i remember the r1/r2 and base had one style ac and the touring had another connector wise or something like that

R Magic GARAGE / FD??????AC??????

Type 1 only ¥ 55,000 (consumption tax) 3 to 6-inch ¥ 38,000 (consumption tax) Normal mount vehicle about 30 minutes ¥ 4,000 (consumption tax, air-conditioner gas supplement another) "V "mount vehicle about 60 minutes ¥ 8,000 (consumption tax, air-conditioner gas supplement another) ※ air conditioning gas replenishment type 1 ¥ 20,000 (consumption tax) 2 to 6 type ¥ 15,000 (consumption tax)

To me this suggests they make one with both types of connectors. I guess you'd have to supply a VIN to confirm fitment.

awesome thanks brother

Will it fit a greddy v mount I wonder

I installed this on customer's car before

I would say it looks nice, but it doesn't offer much improved cooling ability, and the A/C performance went down.

Brand new Mazda stock condenser(it's made by denso) cost 360+ shipping. I don't see the point of getting this "2/3 sized" condenser.

picture is the brand new stock Mazda condenser, I forgot to take pic of the r-magic/hpi condenser before.

That's what I was also worried about loosing cooling they said it's a little thick to make up the dif but I guess it don't matter

So long as a condenser mounts to the standard points, then yes it should. The Greddy emulates the standard mount points and provides adapter pipe work for the condenser, albeit for the RHD layout!

I don't think the oem condenser is available anymore. I put the part number into Google and all the sites who list it indicate discontinued

There are lots of aftermarket alternatives for OEM on Yahoo Japan Auctions.

I tried most of them, they all suck, and guess what, 1/2 are actually made in China.

collectiv 07-26-16 08:47 AM

You think the parallel flow one is worth the extra money? I'm switching to r134a and they say it isn't as cool as the r12. But maybe with a parallel flow it may help. It's alot of money though. Twice as much or more as the oem condenser.

nycgps 07-26-16 09:06 AM

if I were u I will use R152a instead.

r134a sucks no matter what condenser u uses.

Yes, look at the banner ad at the top of the page

????????????FD3S??????? - ?coolingdoor_west???????????????????? - ????!

It's there for all auctions, run by a company called Buyee. They buy then ship onto you.

Another example is rinkya.com

I've used both to buy parts. There are bidding fees, commission and re-delivery to pay for.

Sometime customs applied additional taxes, sometimes they didn't.

Full search for FD3S condenser

????! - ??? - ?fd3s ????????????

I use an RX8 condenser. Has a built in dryer. Works great and costs around $100. You can get them as cheap as $50 but I went with one from Koyo.

collectiv 07-26-16 09:05 PM

So with regards to the rx8 condenser.. is there any modifications required to make the rx7 brackets line up?

Marf 07-27-16 02:46 AM

^^ also interested :)

David Hayes 07-27-16 03:54 AM

Good question. I have this on my v mount so we had to make new brackets anyway. Don't know the answer for OEM.

collectiv 07-27-16 07:19 AM

I have a greddy v mount as well. If the size is the same you can manage to make some custom brackets to mate up with the supplied v-mount brackets
