is their anything inside the bell housing that has to be unbolted
pull type clutch pwns you
from my tear-down: https://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h...ClutchRing.jpg the ring i'm pulling on in the pic is like a release for the clutch. in order to remove the transmission from the engine, you have to open up the little service hole on the bellhousing and stick a long screwdriver in there to push that ring IN while you pull the transmission OUT. it wasn't really that bad though, as long as you know how to do it (i found a rather well-made vid online to show what's what). |
thanks man i knew it was gonna be something so simple
simple if you know about it, but if you don't it'd be hell to figure out! good luck with the rest of your project.
If you find that to hard to do just unbolt the pressure plate from the fly wheel. You can get to it through the inspection cover.
thanks guys.....which cover i think their is two
either one will work, whichever is easier for you to get the screwdriver through. if the engine/tranny is on the ground, use the one up top.
can it be done while they are in the car??
yes, go from underneath. just make sure the tranny isn't disconnected from the car itself so it doesn't fall on your head!
thanks man i'll give it a whirl in the morning....hope it works...lol
Either way will work just sometimes the clip gets f#%d up and unbolting it is easier.
do you where i can find the vid?
