quick question.. need help tried searching
Hey guys... so i have just a couple quick questions.
Firstly... I need to replace my rad overflo tank. Is it recommended to use an aluminum tank in place of the plastic one? Or will OEM do the trick? Secondly... Is it difficult to remove the overflow tank? Has anyone done this before and can you briefly describe the steps required? Thanks guys |
do you mean the AST ( air seperation tank?). if you do replace, use the metal upgraded tank
you need to keep your over flow tank for obvious reasons ie when your car overheats you don't want all of your coolant on the road. and if you do overheat and you loose coolant, if you do not have a overflow tank then you have no way for the car to pull coolant back in to the system after a over heat. Thanks guys Take off the passenger wheel, undo the liner closer to the body of the car and toward the front. I think there are two plastic screws that need to be removed and the overflow tank can be then removed easily. Doesn't take that long at all. |
thansk for the directions on removing the over flow tank.... would it be best to get an aluminum tank? or will the plastic one from mazda do just fine??

I replaced mine with a nice used one. I dont think anyone makes an aftermarket aluminum tank.
