quick question, ecu?

i would like to get a new pettit m2, but would a used upgraded ecu, from a japanese car...work on a US car? im not sure of any differences other than the speed limiter and such, which is all disabled on the upgrade. the one im looking at is for a 93-95. and its by knightsports.

i just want to know if it would work, i already know an m2 would be better blah blah power fc and stuff. my reason is i dont have a ton of money which is making upgrading a little hard. this would save me money which is why im asking. thanks

I would honestly just wait it out and grab a Power FC. I busted my a$$ and spent money I really didn't have or should of had, but trust me the Power FC is SOOO great. 110% worth it !

well thanks guys. ill take your word and look a little more into the pfc...i still dont know as i dont plan on doing a ton to the car for a long long time. i think a pettit would do me ok, but ive heard a pfc isnt all that much more these days. shit i almost bought one on ebay, it ended up only going for a lil over 500. its all pretty much depending on if it looks like ill be able be able to use the pfc. that stuffs intimidating to me as i dont have much experience with it. but there are a lot of local guys who are pretty cool i could get help from im sure. thanks again :bigthumb:

PFC is 100% tunable and is tuned by tons of people in this country. I mean you can buy any ECU and it will work the same it's just a computer... but when you have to send it back to get it tuned.. it's kinda ehhh. I'd rather steve kan take a ride and tune my PFC at the same time :D

I haven't had to tune my PFC. Well, I did lower the boost setting a little. 12 PSI scares me with the "premium" fuel we get these days! ;)
If you are racing, that's a different matter.
