Now I'm not an FD owner but none the less this still baffles me...
What the heck are those plastic tube/pipe things running along the bottom of the hatch(pictured)??? I gathered that they are for the sound system, but what purpose they serve is beyond me. |
They come with the Bose Acoustic system... basically in all Bose's systems they use artificial bass (small woofer run through a long tube) to give it a big low sound.
BS if you ask me.... your better off putting in a 8" woofer youself. Takes up a enormous amount of room in the hatch. - Artin |
It deals with how the sound waves travel I think for better bass in the hatch area.
|
the longer the tube... the lower the sound... you get a very boomy sound.... unlike a open air or boxed sub which is alota punchier..... it basically works the same way as a bandpass box... uses a tube or enclosed area for more air movement.
for example.... shoot a gun in open air and its going to be loud........ shoot a gun in a tunnel and its going to be really loud. |
