I just want your guys opinion on this. I haven't started my fd in like 2-3 weeks. I have been making some piping for my custom smic, plus it was snowing a lot lately here in St. Louis.
I'm about to be done with this piping stuff and i should be able to start it up today. My question is, since i haven't started it this long, should i: a)Take EGI relay out and crank it up couple of times first, to loube things up, or b) should i just start her? If a, then do i need to disconnect the battery or not? Thanks |
It should fire right up. Mine sits for a week or too all the time. May need to have her throat cleared.:D

Mine sits for a week or 2 every now and then. Starts right up every time. Let it warm up and do some spirited driving, clean it out a little.

I know that it starts up, but i don't know how good is it to start her right up after it's been siting for 3 weeks. Anyway, i just crank her up couple of times, not letting it to start up, and then i started her.
Everything is fine so far, i have to test new IC and stuff. Thanks for replies guys. |
A few weeks of idleness will not hurt anything. Just start it like normal.
If you have an engine that sits for MONTHS without starting (like my boat's engine) then I suggest you disable the fire to the spark plugs someway (on a piston engine I just pull the coil wire) and turn the motor over for 20 seconds or so a few times prior to reconnecting the fire and starting the engine. |
