here is an updated pic of the HUD boost gauge from Defi.

I drilled holes in the mounting plate then used a tie wrap threw one of the front defrost vent grills! So no drilling into the dash! Also I had to apply the reflective film. This prevents the double image and the HUD from getting washed out during the afternoon sun. I can now clearly see it no matter the light.

And some more...here you can see the HUD in the daylight and get a better perspective on the size of the display.

Also, I have the HUD display controller which is also a turbo timer hidden in the glove box along with the Profec B

Hey everyone!

I was talking to David yesterday and he mentioned how well your car turned out. It looks great!

I miss mine a bunch...Brent couldn't believe I sold it.

Anyway, looks like I might be in the market for another FD again next summer. Of course I'll be working with David and Don since I'm moving to San Antonio in April after OTS.

Anyway, good to see some of the old Marvelspeed gang still lurking about.

It's hard to tell but that rear plastic valence is also carbon fibered...it looks very subtle only noticable when the light hits it a certain way.

Wow, it's stunning! The cf front splitter looks great. Is the suspension stock? Needs to be lowered a little just for asthetic reasons. :) What size wheels are you considering?

Great job!!!

7racer 07-23-04 08:59 PM

Chris,

I have JIC-FLTA2 coilovers...the car was really low...but the coilovers are fairly easier to adjust the ride height without effecting the preload...

I raised the car so I wouldn't curb the brand new front lip.

I want 18x9 front 18x10 rear or extreme fitment 18x9.5 front 18x10.5 rear.

I plan to drop the car down to around 25 inch from ground to fender lip height after I get thee new wheels and 99 spec brakes installed.

Thanks for the compliments!!! Still alot of work to do.

wow! was it really back in July of 04?? Anyways..still doing stuff but almost done. Have wheels, have 99 spec brakes but waiting for the front dust shields from the RX-7 store. Have WI partial setup...
As soon as I get the dust shields the car will go for an alignment...and another paint (don't ask)

here are my wheels that I decided on.

Great choice! Those are the wheels I wanted when they came out about a year ago.

Update...I sold the STi in December and got a Z06.

Hey Ian! Glad to see you post back every once and awhile!

So with the Z06, I guess that means no more seven's in the future?? Regardless the Z06 is a GREAT CAR!.....I want the new one:D

How did you mount the PFC in the ashtray? Any pics?

yea..its been done before on the forum. You basically have to sacrifice your ashtray and just use the top as a rail so the sliding mechanism works. Then you have to cut out a little notch for the sides of the commander screen. Then it fits all in with the screen peaking through the ashtray slider opening.

My computer is at Apple for a quickie repair. I'm wiring a custom profec B switch and will post pics when its all done.

here you go....finally. The PFC is hidden in the ashtray. You basically have to hack up the botton of the tray but leave the "rail" so the door has a guide to still slide open and closed.
*sorry about the pics...its late:D
