quick coolant hose question

what size is the stock coolant hose? Is it 29mm Inner Diameter hose by any chance?

http://www.nissport.com/catalog/prod...e=Applications

This is the product i am looking into, but i am open to other ideas!

I would just use the Greddy adaptor piece for this...it's cheaper. And no, 29mm is not the right size.

EDIT - 38mm is the correct size....which Mahjik just posted below. :)

Radiator hoses are 1.5" ID.

Thank you!!!

Where would i be able to find the greddy part? I have had no luck searching on google.

here's one

ahhhh... but will that mate up to my autometer probe???

It should. I'm using this adapter for my DEFI sender probe and it fits perfectly so it should work with Autometer too.

I have a greddy 38 mm hose adapter in my upper radiator hose. I had to drill and tap it to get it to fit my sender. After a while, I decided that I didn't like that I didn't get any readings during warm up. Since the sender was after the thermotat, it didn't tell me anything until it opened. I installed a second sender in the throttle body coolant line. It was much easier to install, and gives me readings all the time. Since I had both senders installed at the same time, I was able to see if temp readings were the same from both senders. They were identical. The only reason that my greddy adapter is still there is because I have not gotten around to removing it yet.

The throttle body coolant line is unquestionably the best location for your coolant sender.

Here's a link to a picture of a throttle body coolant line sender.

That looks like a trick install.... may i ask where you sourced the parts from for that.... home depot or does someone make a kit to do that?

Not that it matters, but i was thinking about eliminating the coolant lines that go to the TB as i live in florida and there is no possibility of the TB freezeing over. However after seeing this install i may go this rout as it looks easier to install and could possibly yeild more accurate readings.

You still have a throttle body coolant line? I thought every one got rid of those.

I went to a hardware store. Take your sender with you to make sure you get the right thread size. You may also need some washers to use as spacers, in case the sender sticks down too far into the line. You don't want it to block coolant flow.

Lets say that you are stopped at a stop light, and your coolant temp is 200. Fans are not on. Your engine bay is getting hot. Heat from the engine, exhaust and turbos are rising to the top of the engine compartment. Since the throttle body is near the top of the engine compartment, it is now getting hotter than your 200 degree coolant. With a TB coolant line, the TB will not become hotter than the coolant.
