Questions regarding injectors?

Im pretty new to this forum and I've encountered a problem with my car. My car has a brand reman mazda motor and the car has been running rich previously and continues to run rich to the point that it clogged my cat within a couple of week. I also put another stock ECU to see if it was my ECU but nothing has changed since i replaced it. I just bought some injectors that were cleaned and flow tested. My mechanic put the new injectors and my car is actually running even worst. THe car isn't even idleing and a ton on black smoke is coming out and has a major gas smell. I appreciate any advice and i've been reading alot on these forums getting better educated.

So, so many variables to consider. Maybe the Mechanic didn't put it back together correctly. Start by ruling out improper Injector installation. Check to see if the Injectors are placed specific to it's fuel rail.

Red hooded secondary injectors belong on the secondary fuel rail which is elevated above the primary fuel rail.

The Primary Injectors are light colored hooded and both rest on the smaller primary rail, which installs below the secondary fuel rail.

Also, check all four injector electrical connections. Make sure proper connection is established.

If all that checks out good, you'll probably have to pull the UIM to double check all the vacuum lines.

How do you know it is running rich? Did you verify with a wideband 02 meter?

To add to this, the primaries are purple in color and mount inside the intermediate housing of the engine. Sounds like your mechanic might have installed wrong/bad injectors.

I guess the "black smoke that smells like gas" out the back is a good guess.

is it possible to connect the primary injector connectors to the secondary injectors?? ie ecu firing secondarys instead of primarys?

Smoke could be several things. These cars don't exactly burn the cleanest so many people mistake them for running rich.
