Questions on locks and combination switches
Greetings fellow car masochists. So I have been down the path of restoring this 93' R1 for a few months now and I think I have most of the "major" problems licked. Got my car back from my mechanic and discovered a couple of new Gremlins:
First my door locks do not seem to function properly. I can lock the car doors with the key but I cannot unlock the doors. I have bought new door handles and shutter rebuild kits from members here so when I take everything apart is there something I can do to try and fix this? If not I assume buying a whole new master set of locks would be required. Second my combination switch does not seem to hold my indicator up or down very well. I looked at replacement but they are over $400 brand new so I'd prefer to fix if there is a common issue that can be repaired. Before anyone says do a search I have, and I have read everything that I can. Before making large purchases I prefer double checking my findings in case anything new has developed so thank you in advance for any advice. |

I dunno how you were searching, but I usually just type into google instead of going through the forums. Seems much better. You're welcome :)

On the turn signals, the FD's turn signals are typically pretty hardy. I would get a low mileage used set and be good to go.
Note that there are different versions - RHD/LHD are different, and cars with rear wipers have the rear wiper control on the stalk. Dale |

You can really swap that out at any time, the hardest part is taking the steering wheel off. You can easily come back to that and do it later.
