Questions for anyone who has rebuild a motor.
I'm just curious what your experience was and how it worked out for you.
I'm also curious... what all did you replace and where did you get your parts? I've e-mailed off a few shops but not having a ton of luck (busy time). I have money and am ready to get the parts... but want to do it right. The stock motor had 99k on it and an inner water seal went. I broke down my motor... I'm in the process of cleaning everything up and going to mic stuff out. I was thinking about ordering the rebuild kit from www.rotaryaviation.com but I also think I should maybe replace the rotor housings and bearings. Wheres a good place to get these? I also kinda wanted to get some mods done to the parts like oil mods (3 window.. stuff like that) and possibly a streetport. I was thinking if I could find a shop that I could just ship my parts to and buy everything else I needed. Please... provide your insight... I'm all ears! :) |
I am rebuilding mine right now. The bulk of my help (aside from the forum) is through Bruce T.'s videos. A must have. Bruce is located in raleigh, nc and can get you anything you need at probably the best price available. I am going to see him tomorrow to pick up a new rotor housing, OH kit and gasket kit. He is known to be one of the absolute best on rotary engines.
email him at: Bruce1071@aol.com |

yeah, he is the one that made the videos -
as for removing the bearing from the rotors - you don't/can't. the video shows how to measure the diameter,etc... of those bearings. email him with any questions you have. sometimes it takes a day or two for him to get back to you, but that's only because he's very busy. |
