Question for those who use stainless braided fuel lines
how do you guys connect the -6 hose stainless braided hose to the stock feed and return steel line? Usually, it is 5/16 hose that is needed with the stock size steel line, -6 is 3/8. When i put the -6 over the stock steel line, it feels a bit loose.
Do you just put a good clamp and make sure it is really thight or is there any other trick? thanks a lot. |
It would be nice if there were a -6an to 5/16 barb. But I guess you can always use a 3/8 to 5/16 barb like here...

I left the factory fuel hoses attached to the steel lines (on the firewall) and just used a barbed fitting that was threaded on the other side, it fits in the stock fuel hose nicely and threads onto the -6AN fitting of the fuel system.

Saw this thread and figured i would help anyone else trying to do this.
Russell makes a fitting that tightens onto the stock 5/16 hardline and turns into -6 male or female. https://www.jegs.com/images/photos/555100550.gif Video of how to do it. http://www.anplumbing.com/TUBING_ADAPTERS.html |
Ideally you want a fitting like that. If you must put the ss line over the stock hard lines, use fuel injection clamps and double clamp them.

Use the brass compression ring fittings though, NOT the fittings with the rubber compression fitting.
PN #165056ERL as found here http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...+115&x=38&y=12 I used them in my LS1 swap to convert to the Corvette FPR and haven't had any issues. The LS1 runs at 58psi of fuel pressure. |
Great video...thanks...now just need to search on double flaring
