Question for those with HID.
Did you get a regular HID kit or a bi-xenon HID kit? I do a lot of driving on back roads at night, so I'm wondering if I should get the more expensive bi-xenon kit simply because I can keep my hi-beam. Or if anyone has the bi-xenon, does the hi-beam really help or are the low beams enough? I'd like to upgrade soon but I haven't really read much about it.

ANY WILL BE FINE BECAUSE once u go hid there will be no reason to use high beam...i have the bi-xenon and the hi beam xenon is horrible...the good thing w xenon u can still use ur flash to pass !!!

Agreed, I never use my hi beams, I have 8000k bulbs and even with the bluish light, the output is satisfactory. With the stock bulbs, I couldn't see the paint on the road at night in the rain. Much safer now and the cutoff better than before. No adjustment needed. Installed everything in a couple of hours, all plug and play. A few black zip ties and some industrial velcro to mount the ballasts.

I'm just worried that I won't be able to see far enough out ahead of me without adjusting the beams so that they're blinding oncoming traffic.

i justinstalled mine and dint adjust anything really there is really ni way to to get a cut off out of id's in h4 halogen housing

I bought the hi/low kit and I'll tell you the low beam works great. The high beam on the other hand is not very good in the factory enclosure. Just get the low beam kit.

Trust me, you want to replace the stock H4 bulbs with HID bulbs that are genuine Phillips bulbs and ballasts. I got my "kit" from Xenondepot. 4300K which gives you maximum light. A simple case of installing the wiring, replacing the stock bulbs and securing the wires against the chassis with a few zip ties. I didn't adjust the headlights at all. They were left at the stock height. I get no complaints from oncoming drivers. And the difference is phenominal! You'll never need hi beams. The straight low beams are more than enough. So much better than the typical projector style headlights! I cringe whenever I get back into my Mazda3. Can't see shit!! Halogen bulbs and projector headlights are a nightmare!! i highly doubt there is a big diff in philips hid bulb for h4 mine are hella brighti have pics somewhere on this forum

I'd go with the high low kit. People always say you dont use the highbeams but that's more subjective than anything else. Personally, I'd rather have it and not use it frequently, instead of not having it at all.
As far as the Evo-R kit, I definitely did NOT get a cutoff as nice as zonblitz's--The curved and imperfect Lexan lens diffuses the cut off. Also, zonblitz was much smarter to buy a good HID kit with a lower temp bulb-- the 8000k HIDs that came with it are def not as bright as I'd like them to be |
