question for Jspecracer7.....

I know i could Pm him, but im not even sure if thats his name. Im just trying to remember. anyway. What exhaust is that on your car in those 2 videos you made where your just driving around. I know it's JIC but what model. Also nice singing to eminem, lol:p:

half past twelve 10-29-02 07:44 PM

Where are those vids? I would love to hear the exhaust

Scrub 10-29-02 07:59 PM

click on this and then scroll down to jspecracer. It's a directory so you have to click to open it and both of the movies in there have videos of him driving around so you can hear the exhaust.

Node 10-29-02 08:21 PM

I think he has Dragons old JIC Magic Titanium exhaust. Not sure on the model, or if it is Dragons old exhaust.

Scrub 10-29-02 08:28 PM

hmmm, that sounds a bit expensive. But it sounds really good so it would be worth it, plus the weight is sooooooooo little.

jspecracer7 10-29-02 09:16 PM

LOL...PM dude!

Okay, Nodielocks is WRONG as usual;). I'm running the JIC Bullet type 1. Dragon bought it from some Japanese dude for $200 and then sold it to me(about 2 years later) for $120....and it has to be the BEST sounding exhaust I've heard to date....even Dragon says he misses it;)

...on a side note, the video was of me picking up McDonald's up for me and the wifey....:D

lane_change 10-29-02 09:21 PM

That was alot of driving for McDonalds. You should have went up to the Captain's Inn by Camp Courtney and had some Kobe Beef. That shit was awsome tasting. Which base are you by? Scott

skunks 10-29-02 09:23 PM

for some reason, I think it sounds just about as loud as my brothers 4 inch straight pipe exhaust comming form a 3 inch bonez dp if not louder... Is it just the mic or is it really that loud?

Note: I am talking about the short video

For the longer video, are you getting up to 100-120mph on 2 lane small roads? Or where you on the highway for a bit? That area does not even look like it has any highways.

Lastly, you really need a sub (woofer) in your car Van!!!

jspecracer7 10-29-02 09:28 PM

The McDonald's run was done with a Borla XR-1 Midpipe. The one where I'm yelling at the old fucker in front of me is w/o the borla. Both were tuned STUPID rich...i.e. the popping you hear.

The JIC is loud w/o the borla. It's a little quieter with the XR-1. If I could purchase another submuffler, I would...it's still loud. But it sounds DAMN GOOD!

I live off base. I'm stationed at ft. Buckner...white golf balls near Camp Foster. Camp Courtney's a little far for Gohan;)

YayeR 10-29-02 09:31 PM

Never heard it...sheet...never even heard OF it;)

Depending upon price, the JIC IMO is one of the best exhausts to get. It sounds good and is 78mm all the way thru(3"). I'd LOVE to get the titanium for weight, but the PRICE is way too much:(

Scrub 10-29-02 09:42 PM

he is in japan therefore his speedo is in Kilometers instead of mph. But at first i was like holly shit thats fast. Damn you also redline the shit out of it. I was laughting when you yelled at the old people, and whe you were singing, hahahaha. That exhuast sounds very nice. I think i found the exhaust i want. I couldn't decide before.

Scrub 10-29-02 09:42 PM

how does the titanium exhaust sound??

jspecracer7 10-29-02 09:51 PM

I think that all of the JIC's sound the same...but don't quote me since I'm the only person that I know of that has this particular exhaust.

I always redline!...what's the point NOT to ? Apex seal chatter...what's that;)

...lol...KPH....

Scrub 10-29-02 10:20 PM

lol, well i don't know if i would consider that redline, since it's way past it. But serioulsy. I thought that was bad, am i wrong??

skunks 10-29-02 10:29 PM

Kph??? really? The location you reved to is usually just about where my 100-120mph mark is...

Also, was that you singing :) I though that was feed back or something hehe

Redline for manuals is 8500rpm while an auto is about 7500rpm... (I'm pretty sure this is right)

BTW: There is no real damage when going to red line as long as you got the fuel/ecu/spark upgrade for it. In fact, I'm pretty sure our engines like it, my car always feel a little more responsive after I go to redline a couple of times.

Scrub 10-29-02 11:00 PM

ummm my car is manual and it redlines at 7500, im almost positive. Don't wanna push it just yet though.

skunks 10-29-02 11:29 PM

manuals can go to 8k with out a problem, at least they should beable to...

tk5dan 10-29-02 11:33 PM

GG on voskos site, slowest thing ever. Oh well, i am glad i finally get to hear the JIC. Is the JIC bullet type 1 the same as the JIC SS on on rx7store or are they different? If so what is the difference in performance/sound

Agree, how come its so slow? It took me like an hour and 1/2 to dl the 27mb file.

jspecracer7 10-29-02 11:56 PM

I've seen bridgeported engine's with stock internals rev to 11000 rpms. I don't since my turbine's can't go that high...

Node 10-30-02 03:23 AM

Oh was that Van singing? Sounded like some stupid little short shit. Oh wait, thats Van! :D
And when was I wrong? Like when you said Haltech E11 couldn't handle OMP's? Hmmmm.... I guess you were right Vannypoo.....NOT

Dragon 10-30-02 03:35 AM

lol.. I go to 10k every day...

singing...WRONG again Nodielocks! that was me speaking very fast...dumbass...

I never said the E11 junk couldn't handle OMP...the EK6 is what I was referring too....

...and at least I own a car that needs a good ECU...not like some Maroon Zenkei FC3S automatic tranny powered cars:D

BooYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BEATCH!

We should just drop it Chris...they're non-believers.

Dragon 10-30-02 07:42 AM

lol.. Maybe our J-spec E-Shafts are stronger or somthing... :D

rynberg 10-30-02 01:17 PM

Damn, I find it a little scary that people don't know where redline is!

On a manual car, the redline is 8k rpm. There is a red dash at 7500, probably to warn you to shift.

There is no point in going past redline on a close to stock car. If you have a large streetport and/or large turbo (or you're INSANE), rev it up! :)

Dragon 10-30-02 04:59 PM

with a good side and a big turbo you'll make power no problem to 10k... with a good bridge you can make power to 12k...

Unless your a sissy :D

YayeR 10-30-02 05:07 PM

jesus.. 12k.. are you sure thats not in metric units ? ;)
i've babied my car until recently, shifting at 3.5k, not anymore :) i let her rev til whenever the hell she wants.

Dragon 10-30-02 05:10 PM

good for you.. :wavey: as long as it's tunned you'll be fine... just don't take it to the rev/fuel cut.. that = BAD

YayeR 10-30-02 05:11 PM

eh.. tuned? maybe i should stop :) besides clutch/flywheel my baby is mostly stock

Dragon 10-30-02 05:14 PM

so take it to 8k every now and then... if you baby it you'll carbon lock it.. if you've only been running it up to 3.5k your engines probably full of carbon already....

YayeR 10-30-02 05:15 PM

yeah someone recently told me that, how do i cure that ?

Dragon 10-30-02 05:24 PM

lol.. pull the engine apart and get a wire brush.. :D then over haul it...

If you start beating on it every now and then you might be able to blow some of it out, but don't do any really long or repeated railings as this can cause hot spots in engines with lots of carbon in them and this can cause predetonation killing the engine..

YayeR 10-30-02 05:38 PM

that sounds liek a lot of work :) and the predetonation thingy sounds expensive :stickpoke:
how much beating are we talking about ?
BTW thanks a lot :D my name is Neeraj (pronounced mirage but w/ an N) this conversation calls for name exchange.

Scrub 10-30-02 05:40 PM

Can't you get a fuel cut eliminator?? That should take car of fuel cut.....correcet? I think greddy sells em.

Dragon 10-30-02 06:06 PM

lol.. I'm Chris...

Just get on it every now and then... do a few good drag launches and run it threw 3rd gear ot 8 k or so...

and I actually have a Fuel cut eliminator here at my house if anyone needs it I might come off it..

tk5dan 10-30-02 06:24 PM

Is the JIC Bullet Type 1 the same pipe as the JIC SS one sold by rx7store. If not could you plz tell me the differences in performance and sound.

Negative, Ghostrider :).

Redline on an FD 5spd is 8000 rpm....I don't care what it is on a slushbox; I think 7k :).

Redline in 1st is ~40mph, 2nd~70, 3rd~100, 4th~140, 5th.....
