Question on engine life

I was told that the engine life on a RX7 with a decent amount of horsepower is about 6 months. I am tring to figure out what this guy was talking about. Does he mean the seals? I am new to the RX7 scene and was wondering why that was.

people are going to tell you to go search.

its not true if our engines only lasted 6 months do you think we would have it? we would all be broke and living off rats.

They were saying that when you have alot of horsepower like in the upper 5's or 6's you are constantly fixing your engine. I thought he meant the seals but 6 monhts seems kind of short.

when someone starts mouthing off on such a complete total unproven generalization like that, best thing to do is to punch him in the face as hard as you can. i'm surprised he didn't tell you how long an rx7 engine lifespan was down to the exact millisecond.

rx7 engines are not weak at all. they are just fragile. big diff between weak and fragile. weak= sucks, can't do nothing to it. fragile=needs a lot of attention. do your reliability mods and make sure if u mod, u don't ever run lean, and your engine will be as bulletproof as a 2jz.
