Question about cooling

Hey guys just want to see if you guys can help me in this problem..

So the weekend that just pass I had a heater hose crack. It is located behind the alternator area sorry about description not really sure the proper name for it... So because of that I checked the level of the antifreeze and it was pretty low on the measuring stick and not due to the heater hose... So I parked it and got all the parts needed to repair the problem, 3/8 heater hose and Premix of 50/50 Preston antifreeze... After the repair all seemed normal I was 2hrs away from home as well and the drive home went smooth with no problems at all... I watched the temp of the motor on a device from Billion it shows the temp digitally. It averaged from 82-87 degrees before the hose broke and even the drive home it averaged that... The day after I arrived back home I was out driving around and the temp was normal while driving around.. I had a length maybe a bit longer than a quarter mile long that I gave it WOT and just shortly after that run my device that I have said the temp was at 106 degrees I don’t know if that is normal or what cause it has never done that before... So I was about 5km away from home so i drove home with caution watching the temp it slowly return back down to 87 degrees. Maybe I’m just trippin myself out but I just want to be sure about the situation.

Mods: Greddy Airinx intakes, downpipe and full exhaust system, everything else is stock

Thanks in advance :)

If you have the Greddy intake filters, i would definately recommend upgrading your intercooler and radiator. Your intake is breathing in all that hot air that your engine is giving off.
