puting a 95 on a 93...

anything i should know before doin this?? in reference to wiring or any mechanical diferences? the motor is of a canadian 95...

what??? if you clarify that you are trying to swap a 93 with a 95, people might know what you are talking about! :)

^ i think he's talking about swaping his motor off of his '93 FD to drop in a '95FD motor from a canadian fd.

Hmmmmm I know the FC canadian versions were different from the US were they not ? I would think it would also apply to the FD ? I could definitly be wrong lol just sharing

I think as long as you swap everything like the wiring harness and ecu then you wouldn't have a problem. It may read in Kilometers though.

Or you could just swap your manifold and everything onto that short block and I'm sure you would be fine. I don't think any actuall bolt locations would be different at all, just emissions and what not.

But the gear in the tranny may be different too. Id didn't know if he was swapping the tranny's too, or just the motor.

well every cluster gauge has km and miles so i gues on theirs would be the opposite of ours... wich means...i think... the same shit....

I've seen some canadian model cars come with only Kilometer speedo's. And like with a SR20 swap in a 240sx, you have to change out the gear from the KA tranny into the SR tranny to get a correct reading.

SVT Squasher 08-05-04 11:04 PM

The speed sending unit on the tranny produces electrical pulses to the guage so as long as the number of pulses per mile are close dont worrie about it.

All the motors are the same throughout the FD's from 93-95. It will bolt right in. I think all the motors from the FD for those years were produced in Japan. I could be wrong about that fact. But, the bottom line is that they are the same.

Unless the Canadian car is right hand drive, in which case, the motors are the except for the downpipe. It is just a different shape because of the steering system.

Anyways, whatever it is awlll abooot, eh?

Good Luck to you.
