Pull to Push conversion for clutch set up.

Alright.. i'm having a hard time deciding.

I acquired an Exedy Triple Multi disc clutch. Only problem is that its Push type (FC and FE) and not Pull (FD). I know I don't quite need triple now but maybe when I go 20B.. Anyhow, I'm debating if I should sell it (cheap, retail $2500, sell for $1750) and buy a pull type or try to go with pull to push conversion and use it.

I have never seen OS Giken but I know that's how they do it. I'm also not sure if I convert to push type, it will worth with Exedy triple push type (made for FC and FE).

Just wanted to see what some of you think I should do... Sell it, put more money, and buy the correct one, or get the pull to push conversion and use this one...

Also, any advantage of using Pull vs Push?? I know its bit easier to release the tranny but any other advantage?

I have seen pull to push conversion stuff from some JDM clutch makers. But, you're right - it's a gamble if it will work with YOUR clutch in particular. Most of those conversions came with a clutch as a kit.

Really depends on the power you're looking to make. An Exedy Hyper Single or dual plate IMHO is one of the nicest setups for high power. We just had a customer get an Exedy dual in an Evo at Fighters - real nice, pedal effort is like stock, but it HOLDS like no tomorrow.

I'm not sure if there's any difference performance-wise between push and pull. I've always heard the pull style was due to space limitations.

What is the purpose of a pull clutch, vs the traditional push?

Thanks Dale! Well, I guess I'll try to get rid of the push type I have and try to get the pull type for the FD. Anyone interested in a triple pull type cheap?

I've always wondered this myself.. anyone care to share some knowledge as to that the advantages (if any) are to a pull-type setup?
