Project almost done
I've wanted to replace the stock IC for a while now but it isn't necessarily cheap. So, I thought I might find a non-specific IC and adapt it. Well I found an older model PFS IC that came out of someone elses 7 who was upgrading to a FMIC and so I bought it (Ebay $250 shipped). I figured it would be easy to adapt it and save lots of money. Well like many projects - it got a little more expensive and took more time but now it's almost done! The pictures I've posted show some re-routed air hoses, turbo tubing, new parts and added filters. Not yet done is a custom air duct and braces. I also had to replace the battery and build something to hold it (looks like crap but works great for now). I post finished pics but I think I'm ready for some criticism from you all. In all the project will cost me about $650! But that's less then half of the PFS system now on the market.

(OK, having trouble posting pics. Can someone replay and explain how I can have them show up within the same posted thread please.)

If they are somewhat smaller (less than 2 megs total) email them to me and I'll do it for ya.
-Ben Bendehaven@hotmail.com PM me if you email them to me. |
The pics are small but how do others get them up on the screen more than one at a time?

Attach one picture to each post. If you have three pictures, you'll need to post three replies to this thread.

PFS IC (or so I was told) in place before I really got started.

Difference between stock and the new IC.

After much work and searching for parts (Burns Stainless) I hand cut each part to fit. The problems, getting over the pully wheels and still being able to close the hood! (I also re-used the 90deg. bend that went to the stock IC. This I attached to the Y-pipe and routed forward.)

My crappy looking mini battery holder (not nice like Rotary Extreme) but it cost me $10 instead of $150 and the battery I got at Battery Mart for $95 shipped.
