Problems with battery dieing???

If my car sits for more than 3 or 4 days straight then the battery dies. I have been having this problem for a while now and can't seem to figure it out. I thought that it might be the amps running my speakers but I took them all out, including the speakers, and I still have this problem. Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

From a similar (recent) experience...check that your battery is ok. My understanding is that one of the cells(?) in the battery was dead...and the battery just couldn't hold a charge for more than a couple days.

Get it tested if you haven't already.

its a brand new battery. I have gone through 2 now :(

Probably need alternator rebuilt. One of the dioides has probably gone bad letting current flow backward at a low rate. Went thru this with my Land Rover. Course even new batteries can be bad.

so without cranking it, or purposefully using the battery the altenator can drain it?

Anyone else? Otherwise I am going to stop by the mazda dealership and pick up an altenator on the way home.

Maybe this seems obvious...

If you are experiencing a battery drain, why not disconnect the positive connector for the two days and see if the battery is ok after that time?

One way to find phantom power losses is to pull fuses. I have a digital voltmeter, and I place it inline with the positive terminal to measure current. Measure the current draw under battery killing conditions, then start pulling the fuses until you isolate which circuit is causing the drain. Need a circuit diagram, tho...

ttpowerd I have the exact same problem too

can't figure it out at all

brand new battery, had it tested and it was fine, had my alternator tested and it was fine, got a new battery, waited in the car and turned my fan mod off after a few minutes....come back 3 days later and it's dead like totally dead too the radio won't turn on either

I also noticed one time I was waiting for a friend in the car with the car off but radio and lights on. I waited for 15 minutes with these 2 on and the car wouldn't start afterwards!! I got really lucky and on the 4th try it barely started

someone mentioned to me maybe your glovebox is burning it cause it always is open
but I checked this and the light doesn't stay on when you aren't in the car.

right now I don't give a shit about this at all since I have a much bigger problem but I'm just trying to give you some more clues to solve it

Thanks guys.
Suprvo, I will do my best to do that. My dad is an electronic engineer with plenty of experience in electrical systems so i will just ask him to check on that for me.
Snook, I will check my glove box but I am almost certain that mine closes all the way and the light is off. Could be wrong but @ least it gives me something to look into. This time of year I don't need to be spending more money on my car :(
I appreciated the suggestions.
