Problem with my FD....or maybe not?

I am really wondering what the heck is going on with my FD? I sometimes can get 10-6-10, and when it dips down to the 6psi mark it sounds like air is just rushing out from somewhere under the hood around 4k-5k rpms, and then past 5,000rpm it stops and hits 10psi again and hauls ass? (I have checked all my intercooler couplers & clamps, and the intercooler couplers are aftermarket ones.

I have street ported motor, manual boost controller, cold air intake(s), and a 3" downpipe (catless), and a 3" midpipe (no cat/resonators), and a tanabe muffler, underdrive pulleys & pfsupercars piggyback (untouched so far, because no one can seem to tune it from the houston area).

Then, at other times I can punch it and it won't boost past 5-6psi, and then when I let off the throttle it makes a weird "whoooer" sound under the hood?? I don't get it!!!

sometimes it will boost ok, and then the air rushing out around 4k-5k rpms, and then after that it shoots back up to 10psi, then other times it won't even boost past 5-6 psi, and makes a weird sound that isn't even explainable!!! What could be the problem? :wallbash:

check the couplers and piping for cracks...

sounds like the charge relief valve. the bov in the back. if you are venting it to atmosphere that is probably your problem. it opens between 4500 and 5000 rpm while the secondary turbo pre-spools. thats my guess.

Check the line and check valve in the line from the y-pipe to the pressure chamber.

both stock bov(s) are being vented to the atmosphere because I have a cold air intake system, is it not suppose to be like that? (what am I suppose to set them up like? The guy before me had it like this.)

charge relief valve? where is that located, and how do I check if that is still operating properly? (sorry for the noob questions, but I've only owned this car for about a month now.)

That was the first thing I did.....I use to have an SRT-4 and it had air rushing out under the hood everywhere when I got into boost.... brand new when I got it had cracks in some of the piping off the dealership lot and all of the clamps were loose, LOL!! Sad, but true, haha. :)

I know where the y-pipe is on the car, but can you take a picture of the check valve / vacuum line you are talking about thats located by it...?

It's ok to vent to atmosphere, CRV is towards rear of y-pipe, ABV is towards the front of y-pipe. To check those, download a copy of shop manual, get a vacuum tester (mytivac).
