Primary Turbo Oil Leak. Please help.

Just got back from my test and tune autocross with PCA. After the 6th run, the car was smoking from an oil leak. Looks to be coming right off the primary turbo (where the compressor and turbine connect to each other). It didn't seem critical, and although the OMP lines were wet from oil too, I was fairly confident that the oil was coming from the primary. Any thoughts? Common occurrence? I'm going to pull the elbow and check for shaft play there. Anything else I should look for?

Thanks!

You're going to have shaft play even if there isn't a problem. They have play brand new even.

Turbine and compressor don't connect... you mean the center housing in between them?

Could also be the oil feed or return lines/fittings. GL.

s1mpsons,

Thoughts: My FD was leaking oil due to bad oil seals, and my oil metering lines had tiny fractures in them, which is why the engine was always an oily mess, and I ended up getting my motor rebuilt. It's weird somehow that I can open the hood, and the entire engine's still clean and oil-free.

Seems to be leaking where the compressor meets the center housing. It looks the same as my secondary, except my secondary never smoked. I drained some oil out of the pan (~200ml) since it seemed to have been filled too high. I also capped the fresh air nipple on the primary inlet that feeds the omp just in case it was related to that system. I put a mini air filter on the hard pipe for the omp air source.

I also notice my omp was missing one of the two mounting bolts. Any one know the size?

My omp oil lines were stainless steel braided when I bought the car.
