primary boost issue

I have cat back, dp , intake and PFC. Here is the issue- If I get on it hard it seems ok ( a little sluggish) but 10-8-12. If I am cruising and I mash on the gas, I get about 4 psi dropping off to 1-2psi, until transition @ 4500 and then it climbs to 12 psi. I changed the 2 soleniods @ the front of the UIM under the vacuum chamber, can't find any hoses off, and noticed that the CRV doesn't seem to be venting anything @ idle or under low load (under 4500rpm). I don't know where to go next, can someone please help. I have inspected most of the hose but not everything, I'm just looking for a direction to look at, has anyone seen these signs, I do understand it could still be multiple issues but I hope this can rule out most. Thanks in advance

I have seen this problem a number of times & it is common to all FD's. Even my series-8 (99-02) will do it at times & thats with a standard ECU.

Get yourself a boost/vacum gauge & place it on the vacum circuit. I:E the other side of the 1-way valve that charges it. Drive the car around & watch. If you maintain vacum when the pedal gets mashed then you will have to search elsewhere.

Most times, you will have have vacum leakage problem. If the vacum dies when the load increases, then get the car on a dyno to trace its leakage source while load can be applied. If thats too tough, then block all the Air control valve soleniods as they often leak at the manifold diaphrams & cause plenty of trouble.

Although your FD is a 92 model, its really weird how my 00 model with just 6,000km on the clock can do the same thing at times. They really are tempremental some times

Hi,
Your problem might be the charge control actuator, or it's solenoid valve. Do you have the colored vac hose diagram? The CCA is right by the Y pipe outlet, just by the CRV. To test, look at the pushrod w/the engine off. The rod should be extended. Start the engine & the CCA should 'suck' in the pushrod under vacuum.

im having the same issues right now.Have you noticed that the problem occurs after the car is warmed up? before my car fully warms up its much more responsive and powerfull.

you shouldn't be mashing the throttle when your car is still cold! :(

I know I know.I meant that the gas pedal has balls behind it and once its warmed up the car feels totally different.Very little power initially. My auto tranny is probably damaged and will need to be replaced soon.5speed swap here I come.

I also seem to get a fluctuation in boost, meaning in 2nd or 3rd if I get on it about half way, it starts to go up and then dies off, then back up, and then dies off. It does this about two times and then it climbs but once I get to 10 or 12 it will slowly die off. If I get on and off the gas sometimes it works right or if I double clutch in the same gear, it seems to engage right sometimes. Does this point to anything? I think I'm just going to take it to Mazcare in Atlanta and let them sort it out if I can't figure it out
