primary boost(HELP)!!!!
What could cause the car not to pull if the primary is boosting properly? MY gauge reads 12 lbs. of boost on the primary but the car does not pull. Ignition? HELP??????????????? I need a GURU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are your RPMs also going up with the boost?

What do you mean by "does not pull"? Complete lack of strong acceleration? Is the car running roughly? What are your vac readings at idle?
Let's go with the basics. You have a stock ECU - go ahead and reset it and see if it helps. Check for strong spark on all four plugs. Make sure you have the right coils hooked to the correct plugs. Check for vac leaks on the LIM with a can of carb cleaner. If still no luck - get a compression check. Is this behavior the same in all gears? -bill |
During primary boost does the car pull strong until it goes above 10psi?
Are you running the stock ECU? |

NO not fuel. i have cosmo pump, flowed and matched injectors etc...And m2 ecu...

I have no vaccum leaks, and compression is fine, its a new stage 3 motor from pineapple...

i have the same issues as you.is this heat dependent though? my car pulls alright but once it gets warmed up it doesnt pull worth a damn.Feels like my primary turbo isnt working as hard as it should.When the second turbo kicks in it pulls much better.
Also mahjik what do you mean by the boost building up the at the same rate as the rpms rise? because my car does that.What is it indicative of? |

what exactly does this mean if I have an automatic? does this mean my clutch is also slipping? I know the autos have several clutches inside right?

the clutch and flywheel are brand new! You dont understand what I am saying, I know what a slipping clutch feels like. Its not like that its like there is not enough spark for the boost.....

You mentioned you have flow matched injectors? Are they stock sized?

PFS Purple Intake Downpipe Midpipe Exhaust 14psi For about a month, clutch started making noise so I dropped the boost back down and babied it, one day the clutch packs just crapped out on me. I had thought at first the torque convertor was swelling. The auto tranny just can't handle mods. |

Dgeesman, What Was Going On With Your Car? Similar Problems As Mine? And Mahjik, No I Have Not Put In The New Injectors Just Yet Been Moving Into A New House With A Garage. So, Now I Can Start To Tinker Myself. When I Was At Pettit The Wolf 3d And Cam Tuning Was Able To Pull The Excessive Fuel Back And The Car Ran Like Gangbusters. My Question Is, If Its Is The Injectors Then Could The Wolf Really Have Pulled The Fuel Back. Thanks For Anything.....

I was getting bucking and misfires anywhere from 5" Hg vacuum (higher rpms) to 8psi boost (lower rpms). I could only get to the higher rpms without bucking if I accelerated very gradually, so it seemed to be a load problem.
It was scary the few times it got up to 8psi and bucked - fortunately I think I got no detonation. Replaced the injectors and all is well. Dave |
I Hope That The Injectors Are My Problem As Well. I Have A Set In The Car Ready To Go In, Just Been Too Busy. What I Was Wondering Was Can An Ecu Like The Wolf3d Really Pull The Fuel Back From The Injectors? The Car Ran So Good With The Wolf In Place. I Have Honestly Replaced Everything That Has To Do With Igniton And Fuel Except For The Injectors. I Flowed And Matched The Injectors At The Time Of The Motor Rebuild And They Even Bench Tested Fine While Down At Pettit. But I Guess That Really Only Checks If The Injectors Are Opening And Closing, Not Their Impedence. I Hope The Injectors Are The Trick......

Yes, you can tune about anything out with a programmable ECU. However, just like the 3K hesitation, it will just mask the problem, doesn't really fix it. It's basically an expensive work around.

Mahjik, Yeah I Agree That It Is Really Just A Band-aid For The Real Problem. But If The Injectors Do Not Fix The Problem I Will Probably Order The Wolf3d From Cam And Install It Into The Car. This Way I Can At Least Enjoy Driving The Car While Trying To Find The Underlying Problem. Thanks For Your Insight... As Always....
