I'm 15 and will be 16 on March 3rd and I want an rx7 how much do they go for? I'm looking for a 1993 or 1994 stock, so I can fix it up my self. Got any ideas? thanks guys.

$12-30K depending on condition, mileage,mods etc.
You will need a bunch of cash for insurance and speeding tickets and $5K for repair when you wreck it hehe

Don't buy one. Trust me, I really suggest that anyone who doesn't know a fair amount about rotaries should NOT buy a 3rd Gen RX-7, or any turbo RX-7 for that matter.
If you are set on one though, hold off for 4-5 months. In that time research like crazy on the forum and the net to learn as much as you can! If you don't you will get the car, and fuck it up, and possibly yourself as well.

well see my neighboor has one and i have been in it like 2 times and the 1st time i was in it i liked it then i looked it up on the net and found some shit out about it and now i love then i dont know a ton about them like he does but i do like them and i could work on one if i had one. and what better way to learn about a rotary engien then having one??? anyways thanks and that was funny up there jedon

Or what better way to spend the money you don't have trying to work on a rotary, and driving mom's car when it sits rustng in the driveway because the last owner didn't "believe" oil needs to be changed EVERY 2000 miles in THIS car?

Don't jump on there backs Red Rx-7 lover, they are just telling you the truth. When I had my first car I didn't think I would crash it...I put 8 grand into it...then POW, no more car. All they are trying to say is, don't buy a 3rd gen Rx-7 for your first car. Maybe start with a second gen and work your way up from there. You can get one for fairly cheap. I realy doubt you will be able to handle a FD in the rain, or any slippery surface for that matter. They can be hard enough to contorl on a dry surface sometimes. I just don't want to see another FD go down the shitter, and im sure everyone else feels the same way. Yes Rx-7's are great cars, but you have to know how to handle them or they will hand you your ass. Not only that but to maintain a Rx-7 takes a pretty nice chunk of change out of your wallet. Just out of curiosity, did you plan on driving the 7 every day?

You may be able to handle it, but personally I'm a competent driver, and was when I was 16, but I couldn't have handled a car like this.

Just make sure you got alot of cash coming in after you buy the car for maint. keep the other car you have for a daily driver.
