You don't need a funnel dude. Pour the quart in the filler neck, do nothing to the flapper and all will be fine I promise.....Or fill up your bins with junky crap and ketchup bottles, thats a pretty sweet idea too.
yea some of you are making this way too complicated. i just pour it straight in, been doing it for 10 years no problems |
All I used was a funnel, rag, and bag.
1. Insert funnel, pour premix. 2. Rinse funnel with the gasoline, then fill tank with the gasoline. 3. Wipe funnel and area clean. 4. Bag them. |
I mean..I usually just pour it in.....i've haven't had any trouble with it.
you don't need to get it IN the hole where the pump nozzle would go, there are holes around it that lead to the tank as well. |
How about.....
Everyone just do it the way that they want |

DEAR GOD. I just use a funnel and a couple of squirts of brake clean to clean out the funnel. Some of you are over engineering.
Me; an R/C nitro fuel bottle, filled to the markings on the side from a 4l bottle of Motul 800 which happily has an easy-pour, funnel negating spout. Pour me one of those when ever it looks like i might need fuel, wrap it in a rag and off i go. |
Would be nice to hear everybody's idea + how many miles a week they drive their RX-7.
|
I pour the 8 ounce bottles straight in, then gas. no funnel, no screwdriver, no rag. Just like some others are posting, it all goes into tank.

I use the normal octane boost bottles that are clear. I have a 5, 10, & 15 oz at all times in my bin as I run E85 so most of the time I fill up when able so I am not always on empty.
You also dont need to depress the flap to get it into your tank. Thank makes a messy job messier! |

^But then if we applied the common sense test, we wouldn't be driving a FD.

Driving the FD is an exercise of rare sense, not common sense. LOL |

Pour your premix into a fuel injector cleaner bottle and go. Keep a few filled up at the same time. The Protek-R bottle is really just a Fuel injector cleaner bottle. So once I noticed that, I reused and bought more to keep on hand so I dont have to keep refilling them one by one.... |

If I go down the shore, (weekend vacation) then 100-120. |
If anyone needs some Idemitsu Pre-mix... I've got a few qts just sitting here. I'll get rid of them cheap. Brand new too.
I don't necessarily drive my car on the street ever anymore. But with E85, I just pre-mix in the garage...straight into the 5 gal jugs. And they'll sit there until I use them =-) pm me if anyone wants the pre-mix. located in Santa Ana/HB area, but can ship if need be. |

I just bought a case of 12 quarts from Rotary Performance for $86 shipped. Still a decent deal though... Nick |
I drive my FD around 120 miles per week.
I use whatever TCW2 2 cycle is handy, and has a nice clear sight window on the side. I keep a long funnel and the quart of premix in one of my bins. I keep my quart of premix in a neoprene zipper bag that blipshift used to sell called a "710 bag" in case the quart leaks. Get it... 710 upside down...yeah. I normally wait until i'm at 1/4 tank before fill up, and will add 10oz of premix before filling. I leave the funnel in the car and give it a rinse with gasoline, then pull it out and put the rest of 10 gallons into the tank. |

I'm probably driving the FD about 100 miles per week right now, my work isn't very far from me and I take it probably every other day and on weekends. |
So does anyone know where the recommended ratios for cars without OMPs came from?
Something like 1/100 for street cars, right? What about using pre-mix on the track with a car that still has an OMP (as extra insurance)? |
