PPF Adjustment

1 Attachment(s)
Anyone have any tips/tricks for adjusting the PPF when reinstalling the transmission? The service manual is terse at best. Also, why does it say you aren't supposed to re-use the PPF nuts when re-installing? What could happen if the PPF is mis-adjusted on the trans side? I can see it clearly influences the pitch of the motor in the engine bay.

Thanks!

I've never found a need to adjust the PPF in the MANY FD clutch jobs I've done. Just bolt it up.

If you have bad motor mounts, it will misalign the drivetrain, that's the only thing I can think of as far as it goes.

Supposedly the bolts are one-time-use bolts. I've re-used PPF bolts MANY times with no ill effects. I don't see any reason to replace them. I think Mazda just wants to make sure none of them break or are bad, that would be a safety concern if they failed. But, I've NEVER heard of one failing.

just bolt the trans back in and forget about it, some times when the Engine is removed as well the trans is shifted because the motor mounts are missalined(tilted)in your case just reinstall, I have done Hundreds of clutches, it's no big deal.........
