power window problem

hi all, any help would be appreciated as i am having problems with my passenger power window and mirrors. i am not getting any power to it. i do not have the drivers side window switch hooked up (i dont know if that matters). the drivers side mirror works but when i try switch it over to control the pass side nothing. i checked all fuses and they are fine. if someone could help that would be great. thanks

cool so i guess i need to hook up the drivers side switch. thanks

Yes! the passenger side window switch gets its power from the drivers side switch.

Did you check the wiring diagram before you asked? Watch I'm psychic!...........................NO!

Oh and BTW the mirror problem is unrelated. the mirror and window circuits aren't interconnected exept way up on the positive side, and you would be having other problems.

then how did you not know that you need the driver switch for the passenger switch to work?

and there are 3 possibilities for your mirror problem, bad motor, bad switch, shorted wires to the passenger side

i did know just wanted to make sure i was right. i am more worried about the mirror than the window since i need the switch to make it work. i know that the plug for the mirrors is not getting any power. i have to check if there is a short in the line or maybe a bad switch. thanks for the help

the plug for the mirrors gets its power from the 15A cigar fuse is the USDM models, I know from your other thread that you have a RHD model, so not sure if its the same. but from what I read about the drivers side mirror moves with the switch, so I would bet its a bad switch.

Not trying to hijack the thread. I have an issue with the passenger side window switch not working also.

I can roll the window down with the drivers side switch. Is there a procedure to test the passenger side switch with a multimeter or something? I just bought the car and haven't got a tech manual yet.
