I was looking to stay sequential but get more power. I have been running between 18-22 lbs of boost to get the power I wanted.

I puked my turbos recently and want to have something with the same response as the stock sequential system but put out more power and have a wider power band than the stock.

Thus the questions about the meanings of the turbo lingo. I was wanting to find out if that would give more power, wider curve but still have the same response as the stock system.

First off, 18-22 lbs of boost on the stock turbos is impossible. I could be wrong, but I have never heard of a the stock turbos having more than 12 psi (and that's on the stock ECU system). Or it can mean a really, really, really bad boost gauge. Because the stock turbos can only hold up 12 psi. Any above that risks a blown motor. Secondly, you can get the BNR stage 2 or 3 upgrade. The BNR upgrades mean that you send your core turbos off and someone will rebuild them with different compressor wheels and stuff like that. That'll get you more power and still have the "stock" twins. But, you can change the turbos over to a non-sequential system and have a little lag, and some top end. You don't have to change them over to non-sequential that way you still get around the same powerband. However, if you want to get a single turbo, i would recomend a T04E or an rx6 kit. If you want to get the turbos to spool much faster, then have your motor ported. Other than that, I don't know wat else to tell you.

Have you tried looking for a set of the 99spec (280hp) turbos? I think that would be the best way for you to go.
Non-seq. would be bad for auto-X, but you know that - you were the one that taught me that :)

Are there any auto-Xers running a single set up? I rode in a GT35/40 ball-bearing turbo FD that was tuned for quick response and it had very little lag. He was running 12psi and reached full boost at about 3500 rpm. Just something to check into... I know you probably don't want to go single.
