Porting the wastegate

Hey guys, I need to have my wastegate ported, but I'm unsure of what to do about the situation. Some people tell me it's just a simple matter of dremeling out the area under the flapper door, but others are telling me it's a difficult procedure. Is this something someone experienced with a dremel could do, or should I send it to a shop and have it done there? Thanks everyone. ~A-Rod

It can be Dremeled but will take a while.

You use a carbide porting bit first to get the majority of the work done (spray wd40 frequently to avoid burning up the bit and caking). Then you can switch to a dremel to do finer lines... SEARCH NOOB!!! ;)

It does not take experience to do it. I remember when I did my first one and first port job.

It only requires; patience, attention to detail, knowledge of what you are trying to do, and courage. First read all you can find on it, then just do it!
