Plug N Play Haltech Options Poll!!

Hello everybody, i am contemplating doing Plug N Play harness options for quite a few types of vehicles, mainly the ones with the OBD1 styled ECU connector like the one found on cars like the 89-96 RX-7's, virtually ALL Mitsubishi EVO cars, 93-98 Subaru WRX, 90-96 Toyota MR-2, MK3 Supra, 92-95 Honda/Acura, among others, and i want to get people's feedback in this matter. It would be also possible to do 99-02 RX-7 if i can find the ECU connector and/or harness plugs as well, does anybody have a pic of the main connector on an 99-02 FD ECU? Also, if anybody has a spare FD engine harness and ECU, i could borrow, to do a complete plug n play harness, haltech is wokring on this, but id like to be able to offer it as well.

Here are examples of the way i can do the patch looms:

1. E6X/E8/E11v2 plug n play for OBD1 styled ECU's using your stock harness and a patch loom between the Haltech and the stock harness Haltech makes a few versions, i cater to those that arent available yet, it looks something like this:

2. E6X/E8/E11v2 plug n play option that would use a jumper harness between the stock ECU and the stock harness and "Tee" or "Cut" into the necessary wires, something that would look like this:

3. Or finally, build your own harness, using the Haltech's "Short Loom" option and an ODB1 styled ECU connector to fabricate your own plug plug n play with the features you'd like to use, I can also supply the bare main ECU connectors and pins so you can just build it your self if you feel up to the task. Something like this:

So, im taking opinions to see if there is interest in these things so i can build them. Also, please bear in mind that the pics you see here of the ones i make are all first prototypes so they are BUTT UGLY but they work 100%, so if there is enough demand i promise to make them a heck of a lot nicer. :D

Much like the ebay headlights should be deleted from your car? The guy is trying to see if there is anybody looking for something like this. This is how aftermarket parts are made, demand.

I didnt understand your comment, are you badgering me for putting this post up or saying this is a good thing?

Either way, im trying to find out the demand, since i know it makes installations easier for people, and this allows me to cut some costs.

As for the 20B stuff, if you had a Cosmo id tell you yes, i can do a patch harness that will let you run an E11v2 instead of the Cosmo ECU, which is what i plan to do when i buy my cosmo someday. :D

But, doing a full plug in terminated harness for a 20B is a little tougher, specially since i dont have a car next to me to do the R&D yet. If anybody has a complete stock wiring harness they would like to donate i would happily try and build a full plug in harness for them.

I know the E6X guys would love this and the E11 guys but i know there is plug and play for the E8 to work with the fd already

As far as i know, the only RX-7 plug in patch loom that haltech has ready right now is the series 5. I spoke today with them about the full replacement harness options, and they have been delayed by lack of diligence on the company that was doing the prototyping, so right now it looks like its on hold for the moment.

I will start looking into building these my self and see whats involved.

Actually Claudio I was coming to your defense. Someone wrote "delete this" as a post but now it is gone.

Thanks, i guess i missed that one, i havent checked this thread in a while. Guess the real interest is in the Haltech section.

CLOSING this, as you have a thread in the more appropriate Haltech section anyway....
