pls help fd wont start-maybe possesed
hi guys pls help
well let me tell u everything exactly how it went down. about a week ago my parking lights blew so i changed the fuse friday night i go to pick up my girl and shut the car down. she gets in and it wont start i mean it clicked i thought the alarm armed so i tried to disarm after a minute it turned on. saturday morning is cruise day with fellow supra,vipers,corvettes.etc. so i take the car out the garage with no problem.go out to get gas i notice parking lights are not working.so i shut car off and check fuse its blown.i replace and lights wont work.i said f*** it oh well my boy in his supra is waiting for me so i taught i would fix it later.i go to turn the car on and it wouldnt even crank it just click.i said damn alarm now the alarm wouldnt respond to the controller. so i get pissed and pull out the viper alarm about a minute later its starts.so we get on the highway and then im doing about 70 m.p.h and car shuts down i mean everything died.i coast to 15mph and i hear car trying to start.as i pulling over. i get out with my boys supra behind me.and the car wont drv but the car is trying to start. so we disconnect the battery.tried reconnecting the battery and it tried to start with the key in the ignition but not turning the key.so i got pissed and towed the car to my house. later i talked to a local area rotorhead he told me it was the starter it wasnt disengaging. he advised me to bang the starter.i did and nutthin. my friend turned the parking lights on. and the car tried to crank(turn on) oh yeah i had the key in my hand what can it be do i need a priest or a mechanic pls help i taught it was the: 1 viper alarm 2 starter 3 stock alarm 4 ignition 5 electrical problems sorry for long post:D |
You know I dont have a clue!!! Bump for ya brotha... |
That is a strange one.
Is is possible that the viper alarm had some sort of shutoff / fuel cut that grounded after you pulled it off? Doing 70 mph and the car shutoff - compression, spark, and fuel - one of these had to be missing when your engine died. Probably not compression if the enging already running - so check for a spark and fuel. So check the battery first and go from there. And how do you bang a starter? Are you a cheerleader :) |
Bro I don't have much experience in electronics but it sounds to me like a sloppy alarm install shorted out your car.

i unplugged alarm (it was installed over 2 yr ago)
its a viper 500 i took out the parking light fuse and it wont try to start with the turn of the parking switch anymore, but also wont turn on with the key in it just tries to crank, also when i put the parking light switch on the lights blow in about 10sec of it being on. |
Had a similar problem before where my car just stalled and wouldn't start back up. It was the Main Relay Fuse.

thatoneguy pls tell me youre story and how u fixed it.

You've got a short *somewhere*, but finding it can be a bitch. It is obviously crossing systems. You've got to find where the wires and grounds to the various systems are located and check everything. Sometimes you get lucky and its fast, likely you're gonna be at this for awhile.
I know that when you have a hammer every problem looks like a nail, but something similar happened to me. Maybe it will help. Is your car lowered? Mine is, and when I had a ghost in the machine it vexed me but good. I finally found a bunch of wires on the driver's side wheel well that sit right above the tire and had been burned down by the tire. This caused the engine to stay on even when the key was out, check engine light on, windshield wipers coming on when I turned right, etc. Have you done any mods recently that you might have messed up some wires? |
hey axe i never taught of that my car is low actaully my right front side
is blown(shock) so my fenders is fugly.do u think that caused something to happen.i am good with wires, radio, etc. do u think i should look at it or a pro. |
Just check up under the wheel well for a burned-up conduit. If so, just splice away and then wrap it all up with electrical tape. Plumbers puddy shoved into the ends of the connections also makes them waterproof....good stuff. All the wires are color coded, so don't worry.
Take it to a pro?.....fogetaboutit! |

I would suspect your alarm and the wiring of it. Check all fuses underhood and under dash. Check the lightbulb and wiring of the taillight, front/side markers. Lastly, it could be your battery, starter or alternator. Use a voltmeter to test your battery and alternator. Not sure how you test a starter though.

i checked for some possible things today but turned up negative damn i
wish i would of took electric shop in h.s lol |
