please help, replacing vacuum hoses

after hours of taking apart my solenoid rack and studying about 5 different diagrams and 20 pictures i took before taking everything apart, most of my hoses are in the right places. but there is one hard pipe (circled in the picture above) that I have no clue where either end of it goes.

it is a hard pipe that points straight up and is located on the side of the solenoid rack closest to the firewall and on the intake manifold side.

i have a 94 r2 with manual tranny. could anybody help me out with this one?

I believe those are used for automatic transmissions only

You can tell by the deposits on the outside, whether there was even a hose there or not. It should be shiney, but it's dull and matches the rest of the hardpipe.
