Please help...

Okay I cant find this in the Manual anywhere, My question is...
what is that thing that is mounted on the inside of the lower Intake Manifold underneath the UIM, it has a hose coming out of the top sort of angled towards the rear passenger side of the car, it has a few vacuum lines coming off of it... I had a hose coming from there running forward and then down...
Do I need that ?
Any help would be much appreciated... Thanks

actually that would be the RPM guage I think, the rpm is electrical and the speedo is mechanical, at least that is how the FC's are, I dont know if the speedo on our fd's are elec now ?

can I relocate that stupid hose coming from it or does it need to be somewhere where it can get fresh air, or is more like a dump tube and air comes out of it ?
