Anyone have and pics or tips on hooking up a fuel pressure guage? I read the shop manual but they show different pics on hooking it up, didn't make sense to me. Anyone? thanks.

Fitted in a T-fitting in the main fuel line in the engine bay. Ran a wire from the sensor into the cabin.
Electrical gauge is much safer than mechanical. Wouldn't want fuel in the cabin. thesaint |
I have the autometer mechanical one. Ok where is the main fuel line? pic?

I hope you are mounting it on the outside of the car then. DO NOT mount it inside.

I am. But I've heard to hook it up before the fuel filter, which us underneath the car, so how can you check it while driving? Anyone???

Where the fuel line comes into the engine bay near the left fender. put the fitting there in the rubber hose . ( fuel line from tank, rubber ,fitting ,rubber ,tubing to the motor) Garfinkle puts a t fitting on the fuel line and brazes the ends, then drills a hole in the t ,then threads in the sending unit .This is leak free and no extra hoses and clamps , also looks trick .

What's the deal with this thread? Every attempt to post reply with image attachment fails!
I have a picture of where and how I tapped in to the fuel line in order to install a fuel pressure gauge. If you'll PM me with your e-mail address I'll forward. Also, be sure to release the fuel pressure before you start, and carefully check for leaks afterwards. You should either use a gauge designed for use in the engine compartment, remove the gauge as I did, or use an electronic style where only the sending unit is installed by the engine. I recommend that you NEVER run any style fuel line in to the passenger's compartment! |
