Anybody have pics of black interior with tan carpet and tan seats? How about all black with only the seats tan? Or does it look like crap?

Looks like crap, the all black with tan carpet is ok, when my tan to black conversion is done you'll be able too see what it'll look like, check out my thread in the Interior/Exterior/Audio section of the forum.

I'll see if I can dig up pics, my FD has all black plastic with tan carpet/seats, I'm looking to go black carpet/red seats some day but its not a priority right now. I would take some specific pics but I'm about 12,000 miles from my car. As far as looks go, I think the tan/black combo looks better than the tan plastic but all red or all black is what I would prefer.

friend has it on his 94 PEP. It looks waaaay better than the all-tan interior.

I'm halfway through the conversion. I have tan carpets and headliner with black seats, floor mats and door panels. The rear plastic and bins are still tan, but I have black speaker grills in them. I really like the way it looks personally.

Many OEM 94/95s have black everything with tan carpet & seats. It looks pretty good.

Sorry to thread jack, but David its nice to see you posting something other than bad news about your project. You must be having a blast finally having your car back after so long.

I disagree. I think the interior looks classy with tan seats, carpet and headliner. The tan just gives it a classy feel with an all black surrounding.

After four years, it's about time right? Off to DGRR this Thursday for the car's first big trip.

I like David's interior too, having black door panels instead of tan makes it look much better.

I know this wasn't what OP was originally asking for, but here's my take of the mixed color scheme. Got kind of halfway through the conversion and decided I liked it this way. Having the rear of the car tan kind of goes with the color scheme of the seats.

I don't know about you guys, but I've always been more interested in improving the aspects of my interior then how much HP I got. And after seeing photos like this, it proves my point even more so. I have an all tan inside, but this combo looks really interesting.

Think about it. How much does so-and-so spend on a rebuild with a street port and new hoses and lines, injectors and this and that... now compare to getting new interior pieces and taking care of all the "little" stuff inside?

Believe you me, giving people rides in a car that I hear "I've never seen one of these before" more and more makes me think more and more about the interior quality. Of course I want my FD to be reliable, which I think after dropping $13k+ on everything under the hood and elsewhere, it is, but how about some new stuff so the doors "feel" not much different from a new car today?

Some of you care, some of you don't... but I'd like to think that besides wine (and Italians).. FD's improve with age?

Give your FD some Viagra and don't just go the distance, do it in style!

I took one of our employee's for a ride the other day in the RX-7. Considering he was 3 when the car was made, it was kind of funny. He had never ridden in anything so fast or sporty. Felt good to hear that. Generally speaking, whenever I pull into a gas station or stop at a stop light, usually someone is asking what type of car it is I'm driving and if it is new. lol

If you really want to do it right, search for Gordon Monson's thread and see what he has done to his interior. Leather covered surfaces, all plastics dipped in metal and the crackle coated. Would really upgrade the interior to more super car status.

The best I have done for now is to ensure all plastic pieces get replaced with new ones if broken, chipped, etc.

I hate the 93' all tan interior, but the 94+ tan interior is much better. I don't mind if it's a subtle tan with just the seats and carpet; I love all the interior plastics black.

Well, it took a while to collect all the parts, but I finally did this and I love how it looks. I got a black headliner/visors/light, seatbelts, door panels, bins, and rear 1/4s. The seats and carpet are tan.

Now I'm looking for tan floor mats with a black RX-7 logo and black trim. Anyone know a good source? The places I've found won't embroider the RX-7 logo.
