Pics Of Car After Alittle Fender Bender

I got into alittle fender bender couple months ago maybe like 2 or 3 and was to upset to talk about it. I came home and took the fender off which was the only thing really damaged that and a minor ding and scrape on the door. I also removed the front bumper and the lights. I ordered a c-west replica light kit from rx7trix with hella lights. Now im saving for a vertex 4 piece body kit either that or a 99 bumper and apexi side skirts. Im kinda feelin the vertex kit alot, its the only kit i like on the rx-7 and i wanted it for a while even though the 99 is hot also. Im also gonna need combo lights, I got a set but 1 is scratched up pretty bad. Maybe im gonna get a 99 wing also if vis makes me a replica. I also need a fender obviously. Then im gonna have the car repainted the factory billiant black.
So heres the before pics

make sure to keep the keys away from people who want to show your car off by cranking it with the intakes covered ;-)

onefast3gen 09-10-04 01:58 AM

I know i started like that by accident but i shut it right off

Please don't ruin this BB Base with a transformer 2 combat kung fu kit. Stick with OEM!

onefast3gen 09-10-04 02:25 AM

Did you ever see the vetex kit? Its really nice

FDNewbie 09-10-04 08:36 AM

The Vertex Kit...

http://www.xs4all.nl/%7Eerix7/rx7kits/aosvertx.jpg

And what I just realized...the Vertex kit is the SAME kit that Apexi used in the Japanese 2003 D1 (drift race) Championship, which the won

MAVrick 09-10-04 09:41 AM

i still prefer 99 oem

fd3s_rx7 09-10-04 10:02 AM

I wouldnt mind vertex...
Looks hella cleaner then C-West and other after market kit.

onefast3gen 09-10-04 02:29 PM

Dam i dunno what i wanna do. I got a model of the d1 car and you can change the body pieces from 99 to vertex. I keep changing it back and forth and i like different things about them both

lopedl 09-10-04 02:35 PM

are these some sort of new boobs, that are square with red x's.

onefast3gen 09-10-04 04:05 PM

also what do you guys think about polishing the stock rims up to where it looks like chrome? Or should i keep that rough alloy look

onefast3gen 09-10-04 04:06 PM

buy the way i dont think the vertex kit comes with the canards if it doesnt im not gonna get them

onefast3gen 09-11-04 02:25 PM

OK i got another question about people who had there cars painted after a accident. Do you think i should take a car for a alignment and have the wheels balanced myself or have the body shop do it. I got a tire place right here that wil probably overcharge me to do it. Can most body shops give the car a lignment right in the shop? Im just curious cause i defenitly wanta make shure the alignment is mint even though the car felt straight coming home from the accident i was to mad to really even probably get the best feel of the car. The wheels look perfectly straight also but i noticed on the rear wheel the weight for balancing was missing. Do you guys think i should handle this now or wait it is done? YOu think the body shop would charge me much?

KaiFD3S 09-11-04 03:51 PM

I would go with the 99spec, it is much cleaner

onefast3gen 09-11-04 04:09 PM

I was gonna go 99 but i like the vertex side skirts and im definitly getting side skirts nd the rest of the kit matches it. I think the vertex kit is very clean looking and the only reason it may look alittle ricey from the front is because on the canards. Take those away and u got a low sitting 99 bumper without the plate and the lip. Also it is sopposed to be real light and be made out of fiberglass mixed with plastic

onefast3gen 09-11-04 04:12 PM

Plus i will be one of the very few with this kit. If anybody got a pic of there own private car with this it please post it. also yo gotta picture it in black with no stickers and no ugly ass green paint. shit reminds me of my old kx80 dirtbike.

onefast3gen 09-12-04 01:51 AM

Comon guys i wanta here some more opinion im starting to lean toward the 99 again. I dont wanna get the 99 and think dam i should have got the vertex kit.

rx7raca 09-12-04 09:30 AM

Really man its up to you. You shouldn't have other people pick out what your car is going to look like. It's called being orignal;)

And to answer some of your questions. I would test drive your car first. No reason to go through spending $80+ on aligenment and balancing. No one knows if a car needs those unless you drive it. Your balancing won't be off unless like you said your weights fell off or you hit something with the rims.
Also, polishing your rims would look like nice, but polishing won't make them look chrome. So if you want that chrome look, go get them chrome dipped.

Hope I helped answer some of your questions. If you lived near me I could get you the hook ups on balancing and aligen, but you dont so thats your lose;), just playin. Good luck!!

onefast3gen 09-12-04 11:58 AM

Thanks, see thats more like it. The thing is i like them both alot. But i think ima go with the vertex. It alittle more money but i think it will look really good.

onefast3gen 09-12-04 12:07 PM

BY the way my friend polished his turbo on his civic and that came out chrome looking along with his intercooler and piping. I know what you mean that chrome will alway have a deeper look to it but i wouldnt wanta ruin the light weigh casted wheels with chrome. Adventually im gonna go with gram lights and get those polished as well. In the accident my front wheel was tapped very little. So little there was only alittle bit of the guys paint on it and i took some chrome polish and it came off in like 3 rubs bak and fourth. but the balance did move alittle. The wheel in back i think it nipped a curb but not very hard, about as hard as when you park quickly and nip the curb and the balance came off.

rotary 09-12-04 08:19 PM

mike get what you like dont listen to anyone (except for me that is) its your car dont let anyone tell you to do something that they like its your car your putting the time and money into it. the vertex kit is hot and so is a 99 conversion. its really hard to make an rx7 ugly. u know kid, peace.

onefast3gen 09-13-04 08:20 PM

Hey john whats up kid. Its not even that im gonna really listen to what people tell me about the looks anyway cause thats all personal preference its just i dont know which 1 i like better. I meen it will be hot to have the vertex kit cause it is definitly the hottest looking kit made for our car and nobody has it. I was hoping if someone does have it if they would post a pic and i also wanted to know if i can modify my stock rebar to work with it. I know some1 has it i seen a thread about someone selling one or something like that

FDNewbie 09-13-04 08:27 PM

Wut up Mike

I dunno which one is best....like everyone said, when all is said and done, you're gonna have to look at your car a LOT more than anyone else, so make sure it's something you like.

I only know one other person who's getting the Vertex kit, and he hasn't put it on yet. It's def. hot. But then again, I'm a sucker for the 99spec too. This is just my $0.02, but I'm one of those guys who wouldn't go 99spec unless I was into changing a bunch of stuff on my car to JDM and 99spec. Cuz for me, the 99spec stuff isn't just a body kit...it's a 99spec car (or on it's way to being very much one hehe) Obviously, you don't have to...but that's just how I am. As for any other body kit...it's all about your creativity. That's how I see it.

Lemme know what you go w/. Oh, and you might wanna get quotes on the body parts shipped, first. Usually, that helps ppl make a decision REAL quick lol :p:

onefast3gen 09-13-04 10:40 PM

I know i can get the kit for 2,100 but if brandon can get me a better price or match ima go threw him. If you dont mind asking your friend where he got his from and how much let me know also ask him if the rebar can be made to fit.

FDNewbie 09-13-04 11:56 PM

He got the kit from Chuck of RotaryExtreme (www.rotaryextreme.com). I don't think he's even tried to put it on yet, so no go w/ the re-bar.
