Pettit racing intercooler with TiAL bov?
 

So I've been looking into getting a new intercooler and I've been looking at the petit racing cool charge III. I would like to go with this one but I would like to run a tial bov with it. On their website they offer the throttle body elbow with or without a bov flange, my car already has the greddy throttle body elbow and the one they offer has the greddy flange. What could I do or get to run a tial bov with this setup?
Does someone sell a hard pipe with a tial flange to go between the intercooler and throttle body elbow?

Get a Tial flange weld onto the cold pipe.

No afaik. As ZE Power said you'll have to have your own welding done, or mount it elsewhere.

The real problem is - the TiAL won't physically fit in the space off the GReddy elbow. The master cylinder will be in the way. If you ended up going with Montego's setup - you can always use an HKS to TiAL BOV adapter and not have to re-weld anything. :icon_tup:

I would never recommend putting a bov on the greddy elbow. There isn't enough room and it makes it nearly impossible to get to the spark plugs. Plus it often hits the shock tower under load. Put the bov against the cold side intercooler pipe where you want it, mark it, and get the flange welded on.

I was never going to out it on the greddy elbow. Just wanted to see if there was a cold side pipe that already had a flange on it

They will weld on a flange, just ask them. The IC cooling fan needs to be moved to the side.

proper engineering is all about maximising airflow into the motor.

once thru the intercooler, after losing 130 degrees F from the Pettit IC as well as losing a couple of pounds pressure, it is important to present as few impediments to flow as possible.

carving a hole almost the size of the important intercooler to elbow pipe (in that pipe) is not the best decision.

why not vent pressure in a spot that will not effect flow?

i recommend you place the BOV on the flat surface of the IC end tank. point the BOV down if it has an output nozzle as it is hot air.

my BOV is spaced out so as to accommodate my IC fan. if you aren't running a fan the BOV could be affixed directly to the IC. either endtank would work.

i also would like to second IRP at to not wanting any elbow on my motor that had a BOV carved into it for both flow and packaging considerations.
